WEBINAR ON BLOCKCHAIN TECHNOLOGY FUNDAMENTALS AND SECURITY CHALLENGES

The Department of Data Science, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus organised a webinar on 'Blockchain Technology Fundamentals and Security Challenges' on 24th May 2022 from 3:30 PM - 4:30 PM. The resource person for the day was Mr Abhishek Bhattacharya. 


The session was attended by students of MSc Data Science, BSc Data Science and BSc Economics and Analytics. Around 120 students were present in the auditorium in the central block, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus.


The event was organised for the students interested in Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency. The topic discussed by the resource person was "Blockchain Fundamentals and Security". Kiran Basil Varghese from 4 BSc (Data Science) welcomed the speaker and faculty. An introduction to the speaker followed this. Mr Abhishek Bhattacharya is a Co-founder and Head of Blockchain Tech at Brú Finance - India's only blockchain native fintech platform, and a UNDP INSPIRON Fellow. The talk presented essential insights into the vast topic of blockchain. It explained bitcoin's value function, i.e. More miners – More security – More Confidence – More Users – Higher Price. 


The main focus of the talk was that crypto had used the case of blockchain, and therefore everyone should know first about blockchain and crypto. Students were provided with sites such as "blockchain.info" and "etherscan.in" to get a better idea about the topic. At the end of the session, students had a 15 minutes Q/A session for their doubts. Srushti Hrishikesh from 4BSc (Data Science) delivered the vote of thanks, bringing the programme to an end.

PANEL DISCUSSION ON LEADERSHIP & ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT SKILLS

The School of Commerce, Finance and Accountancy organized a "Panel Discussion on Leadership and Entrepreneurship Development Skill " on 4th March 2022 at 1:30 PM at CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus.   Ms Ayushi Chandna student of 6 BCom (Financial Analytics) commenced the session with silent prayer & briefed about the Panel Discussion. INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON DATA SCIENCE, COMPUTATION AND SECURITY - IDSCS’22

The Third International Conference on Data Science, Computation and Security (IDSCS-22) hosted by CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus in association with Springer from 11th to 12th February 2022. The conference was conducted online with participants from all across the globe. The conference commenced with the inauguration ceremony at 9:30 AM. Dr Pooja Batra was the Emcee for the occasion and began with the Lighting of the Lamp, followed by a prayer song performed by the students of CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus.
