Ignite ‘22

30th August, Ignite ‘22, an event exclusively for the BBA First Years’ students, is meant to kindle the festive spirit among Christites from the beginning stage of their university life. This year began with a greater participation from students, keeping in mind, the objective to build young professionals in the future.

Ignite is a business event which creates an environment filled with excitement, nervousness and enthusiasm.
The fests at CHRIST (Deemed to be University) are known for their impromptu nature. Similarly, in Ignite, the juniors were not informed about the events and the processes beforehand. Confidence and team work became the keys to survive the fest!

Going further into the specifications of the event, 7 clubs conducted events for 300 participants. Students could choose to be part of Ardor (HRM), Umbricius (Marketing), Exchequer Ploutos (Finance), Elysian (Entrepreneurship development), Carpe Datum (Analytics), Synochi (Strategic Management and PR) and Artibus (MUN, Debating and Quizzing).

Preparations and brainstorming by the CUSBMA team made the day smooth, enjoyable, and lively.
Human Resource Management was a team event with 3 exciting rounds. A total of 15 teams competed in the first round. As HRs, they had to convince the judges for funds in order to resolve inter departmental issues. This event also conducted rounds in collaboration with the marketing team. Students were required to make flyers and pitch the recruitment of employees to faculty members and seniors. They were judged on the number of pictures and signatures received.

The HRM’s final round was rather interesting. The involvement of seniors, heated arguments and audience engagement made the end a blast.
The marketing event had the maximum participation. All the teams started with a crossword quiz called ‘In The Bazaar’ followed by ‘Two Birds, One Stone’ where the participants had to pitch and convince their seniors to become brand ambassadors. This event ended with ‘The Big Shot’ wherein students had to fight against product allegations and present it to the judges.

Debate, MUN & Quizzing and Strategic Management events started off in a slow and pleasant manner but ended with a bang. Seven teams from ‘Public Relations’ reached the finals. The cases fought in the moot court were in collaboration with the Finance Team. The participants had to justify their case to the judges by maintaining public relations and managing their money. The objective cross-questioning session led to heated arguments and a roomful of blank faces in the moot court. Despite the challenging round, participants kept the spirit alive and fought till the end.

Further,15 teams played two rounds in the Analytics event. Participants were given a basic understanding of datasets on excel and were asked to present the same as visual representations for better understanding.

The Entrepreneurship Development and Finance Club had combined the first round. An auction was held to buy different kinds of industries. The money left after the auction was utilized to formulate a budget. Participants found this round exciting as it was unpredictable and thrilling.
The series of events finally ended with ‘Shark Tank’ which garnered the largest audience where the entrepreneurs were expected to come up with unique ideas to attract investments by the judges of the event.
