VIHAAN 2022


 

VIHAAN 2022 was an intra-departmental business fest organized for the first-year BCOM students by the Christ University Commerce Association (CUCA). The event took place on 2nd September 2022 in the Christ Institute of Management Block. The theme for the event was ‘post-apocalyptic’ with the tagline: Rise from the Dead. A total of 104 first-year students participated in the event with much enthusiasm and gusto.

The inauguration ceremony began at 9:00 AM with the address from the MC, Merin Thomas, welcoming the students to the event. Ayushee Gupta, the CUCA student coordinator, then briefed the freshers regarding CUCA and its various clubs. This was followed by the presidential address from Fr Justin Varghese, the Academic Coordinator, and then the address by the Head of the Department, Dr Vandana Bhagat. The CUCA Faculty Coordinator, Ms Vincy Vincent, the formally inaugurated the new batch of the CUCA and announced the start of the fest.




The first-year students were at first nervous about participating but their doubts were quickly cleared thanks to the superb organizational efforts on display by the senior students. The events were conducted smoothly and all the students across all three batches enjoyed the events. The first-year students were given the perfect stage to showcase their skills.

The valedictory ceremony began at 4:00 PM. Merin Thomas once again addressed the gathering and then welcomed the Director and Dean, Dr Fr Jossy George, to address the gathering. The Director congratulated the senior students for their organizational skills and noted that the first-year students had greatly enjoyed the fest. After that inspiring speech, Sanskriti Tiwari and Tanmay Paliwal announced the winners for the various events to much applause from the freshers.




The winners of the Management Club event ‘Invictus’ were Priyanshi Saxena and Arshika from 1 BCOM A. The winners of the Finance Club event ‘Black Friday’ were Pushap Bansal, G. Aditya and Mridul Gupta from 1 BCOM B. The winners of the Analytics Club event ‘Crisis’ were Amal Prince and Khalyan Vairavan from 1 BCOM A. The winner of the HR Clun event ‘Morgan Hunt’ was Soham Dutta from 1 BCOM A. The winners of the Marketing Club event ‘Best Marketing’ were Shawn Ebinazer and Nikunj Bajaj from 1 BCOM A. The winner of the Entrepreneurship Club event ‘Yen Fest’ was Maheshwaran from 1 BCOM B.

 After the announcement of the winners, the vote of thanks was rendered by one of the event faculty coordinators, Mr Aaron George. The event the came to a close with the singing of the University Anthem.

The overall feedback from the first-year students was largely positive. Even though they were initially
nervous about participating, the event allowed them to come out of their shells and freely interact with their fellow batchmates as well as their seniors. The freshers were also able to get a glimpse of the Institute’s culture and what to expect for future events.
