ATLAS OF COEUS
On 15 February, 2023, Wednesday, the second year BCom students of the School of Commerce, Finance and Accountancy, put together, ‘Atlas of Coeus’, an auditing exhibition which aimed at spreading awareness about what auditing essentially is. The tables were set up outside the happening venue, Café Concerto on a bright and sunny afternoon. Team leaders and core committee members were in charge of assigning and procuring the tables, and displayed a great deal of coordination and leadership.
Each of the
teams was in charge of procuring their own tables with the help of their team
members. The tables were taken from the discussion area and the ones on front
of the café
were used too.
To promote efficiency of space, we allotted a table to 2 teams. Bringing the
tables down a flight of stairs was a tedious job, but the students showed
coordination and teamwork while performing he same.
Through the course of our preparation, we were faced with yet another difficulty: displaying the main banner as it was a compilation of 6 chart papers. With great difficulty and brainstorming, the main banner was displayed, which made a good background for pictures.
All faculty of
the department along with students from other courses attended, engaged,
provided their feedback and assisted in making the exhibition a crowd puller. The
presentations and information given, and charts and posters made by the groups
were appreciable and rather informative and enlightening. The ambiance of the
event was truly electrifying and it was full of students and teachers eager to
broaden their scope of knowledge. Participants attended each others’exhibits to
boost morale too and helped each other by providing suggestions.
To enhance the
ambiance, the core committee arranged for a speaker and music was played in the
background. All through this, our media team was on full time duty covering the
event as the viewers interacted with the participants.
Students came up with the most creative of ideas in the form of games, quizzes, charts and presentations. These ideas were appreciated by the audience and given valuable feedback too. Many games were played not only for the sake of the prizes, but also for the pleasure of indulgence.
After spectating
all the displays, the core committee along with the faculty had photographs
clicked and then moved on to click some with all the students who participated
and presented their contents.
In conclusion,
everyone, teachers and students alike, left the venue a little wiser.
Increased student engagement:
Innovative assessment methods can be more engaging for students than
traditional forms of assessment. By incorporating more interactive and creative
activities, students can become more invested in their learning and better able
to retain information.
Better measurement of student learning: Innovative assessment methods can provide a more comprehensive picture of student learning. They can measure not just what students know, but also how well they can apply their knowledge in real-world situations Improved feedback: Innovative assessment methods can provide more detailed and personalized feedback to students. This feedback can help students understand their strengths and weaknesses and identify areas where they need to improve.
