OF SUPERHEROES AND SUPERPOWERS - CHRIST INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT, LAVASA CELEBRATES ‘BACK-TO-SCHOOL’ 2018
Each year a new batch of emerging management talent join Christ Institute of Management, Lavasa. To welcome new comers and make them feel at home and one among the family as Christites, the senior’s batch of 2017-2019 arranged Back-to-School 2018, a lovely event where new students show off their talent in the areas of dance and song, alongside Mr. and Ms. Fresher Competition.
On 30 June 2018, the Senior’s batch of 2017-2019 organised Fresher’s Day titled ‘Back-to-School” with the theme –SUPERHEROS AND SUPERPOWERS. Students looked their dapper best and walked the ramp. Students turned up in their fashionable best, and were divided into superhero teams of Avengers, Justice League, X-men and Teen Titans.
It was a sight to watch students engaging with their seniors, dancing, getting creative and convincing them to join their team. Teams were then set upon a treasure hunt, with hints to find treasures across different parts of Lavasa, in an effort to familiarize new students with important places of the town. Teams came together to put in their best efforts and energies to solving clues and eventually, team Justice League emerged as winners.
The Treasure Hunt was followed by by an evening of entertainment in the newly built auditorium at the Institute. The guests for the evening, Dr. (Fr.) Jossy P. George, Director, CIM Lavasa, Academic Co-Coordinator, Dr. (Fr.) Arun C. Antony, Head of Academics, Dr. Binu P. Paul and faculty members joined in the celebrations, dressed in their best.
Activities for the evening included games to bring out students’ sportsmanship, performances from the seniors and a dance competition between students of different floors of the hostel
The last event of the evening was the most anticipated one; the competition for Mr. and Ms. Fresher. A preliminary round with questionnaire was held and 10 boys and girls were selected for the next round based on their answers. Each contestant was then given 60 seconds to display their talent, followed by a final round of ‘Rapid Fire’ questions from judges comprising of faculty members.
Ms. Sonia S was crowned Ms. Fresher 2018 and Mr. Eric P, Mr. Fresher 2018.
The night ended with students and faculty dancing to the latest toe-tapping numbers followed by a large dinner buffet.
