Transformational Power of Meditation

Meditation sessions have been initiated by Ms Arpita Ghosh, Counselor at Christ Institute of Management, Lavasa for the students. The sessions are conducted thrice a week from 8.55 am to 9.10 am.

As they take deep breaths they focus on something specific be it breath or a nagging thought. After a relaxing session a goal is set for the day. The novelty of the session is when the students are motivated to channelize their thoughts and actions even if it is imagining a river as it meanders through obstacles in its path!

SHREYA JAIN feels that after a few sessions her concentration level has increased. She claims that the benefits range from stress relief to anxiety reduction. There are numerous emotional and psychological benefits too. Shreya wants that meditation must be incorporated in everyday life.

AKSHITA JAIN noticed a drastic change in just a few days. She is now looking for a “cleansing” breathing technique that uses natural rhythms in the breath to harmonize the body, mind and emotions. It has helped her to control the breath movements and see positivity in life all around. She feels glad to feel the ambience of nature be it cool balmy breeze or anything that permeates in nature. Akshita feels that the positive effect on her overall physical health has dramatically enhanced her sense of awareness.

BHAVISHYA SAJITH’s first time experience helped to rediscover her inner self as she felt being transported to another world. She was able to experience love and peace while feeling spiritually enlightened. She could feel a deep bond with nature and felt greatly energized. Bhavishya wishes for more yoga sessions and considers
meditation to be a part of college life. It makes one realize that they have a choice of how to feel and that one can control his/her own environment rather than being controlled by it.

Thus it can be concluded that regular and daily meditation can benefit a student in a tremendous way
