Talent show: 60 Sec to Fame

On the 30th of July 2024, the MBA Auditorium at CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Lavasa, was alive with excitement as the School of Business and Management organized an engaging cultural activity titled "60 Seconds to Fame." This talent show was specially curated for the 1st-year MBA students, providing them with a platform to exhibit their diverse talents and express their creativity in front of peers and faculty members.

"60 Seconds to Fame" was designed to encourage students to step out of their comfort zones, foster a sense of community, and celebrate the varied skills within their cohort. The format of the event was straightforward yet challenging: each participant had precisely 60 seconds to showcase their talent and captivate the audience. This time constraint added an element of thrill, as participants needed to make an impact within the short window, making every second count.

The event kicked off with an enthusiastic introduction by the emcees, who set the stage for an afternoon of entertainment and connection. The auditorium was filled with a spirited audience, including students, faculty members, and staff, all eager to witness the unfolding performances.

The talent show featured a wide range of acts, reflecting the rich diversity of the student body. Performances spanned various forms of art, including soulful singing, high-energy dance routines, stand-up comedy, instrumental music, and unique talents like beatboxing and magic tricks. A standout performance was a compelling spoken word piece on personal resilience, while another student wowed the audience with a dynamic Bollywood dance. The variety of talents on display underscored the unique and multifaceted backgrounds of the MBA students.

The audience played an integral role in the event's success, creating a supportive and lively atmosphere. They cheered on their classmates, making the performers feel appreciated and boosting the overall energy of the event. The 60-second format ensured that each act was concise and impactful, pushing participants to think creatively about how to maximize their time on stage.A panel of judges, consisting of faculty members and senior students, evaluated the performances based on creativity, stage presence, audience engagement, and overall impact. The judges were impressed by the talent and effort demonstrated by all participants. After careful deliberation, the winners were announced: Febin, Nishant, and Rohit stood out for their exceptional performances. Each winner received a certificate of appreciation, accompanied by enthusiastic applause from the audience.

"60 Seconds to Fame" was more than just a talent show; it was a celebration of individuality, creativity, and the vibrant spirit of the 1st-year MBA students. The event successfully brought the batch together, fostering a sense of belonging and camaraderie. It also provided a much-needed break from academic pressures, allowing students to relax, connect with their peers, and enjoy a fun, supportive environment.

The event underscored the importance of cultural activities in the academic journey, highlighting their role in holistic student development. "60 Seconds to Fame" not only showcased the diverse talents of the MBA students but also encouraged them to take risks, step into the spotlight, and embrace their unique abilities. This event will be fondly remembered by all participants and attendees, setting a positive and collaborative tone for the academic year ahead.
