The Economics Club, Department of Data Science of CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus – The Hub of Analytics witnessed an inspiring talk by renowned guest speaker Prof N R Bhanumurthy (Vice-Chancellor of Bengaluru, Dr B R Ambedkar School of Economics University) on "Navigating monetary policies during COVID" on 9th of October 2021. Dr Samiksha Shukla, Head of the Department, welcomed the gathering. Teres Augustine, 2nd Year MSc student, introduced the guest speaker Prof N R Bhanumurthy then addressed the meeting by explaining the importance of the monetary institution- RBI's primary role in the nation's economy and stated the RBI governor as the chief of defence staff of the Indian economy. He said that aggregate demand collapsed, and the economy experienced a decline of one-fourth of its GDP. Globally, the month of October is celebrated as Breast Cancer Awareness month. CCHS (Centre for Counselling and Health Services) at the CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus celebrated Breast Cancer Awareness through a series of various activities. All the activities were initiated and led by Dr Arundhati Chavan (Campus Doctor) with support from CDL Team. Screening and Counselling: To educate the staff and students about breast cancer, Dr Arundhati Chavan, Campus doctor conducted individual screening and counselling for more than 40 female staff members at the campus during the week of 26th October 2021 to 30th October 2021. A Pink Ribbon for a Day: To honour the breast cancer survivors and raise awareness ‘A Pink Ribbon Day' was celebrated on 22nd October 2021. The School of Law organized a program on Training in Mediation and Negotiation to facilitate the students. Mediation is one point along a continuum of problem-solving approaches a lawyer should consider in offering legal services to his clients. It develops skills to find commercially viable solutions and inspires students to focus on commercial motivation, bargaining, effective listening, communication, and human psychology. The 2nd competition of CIMA for the academic year 2021-22 was conducted on 21st October 2021 in CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus. The event started with a welcome speech by Ms Mercy Jacob. It was attended by almost 146 students. The welcome speech was followed by the FMCG video advertisements by the respective clans. The clans, then, showcased their skills in the education sector. The judges for the event were Dr Mahesh Kumar T, Dr Manjari Sharma, and Prof Amala Siby. Samurais were declared the winner in both the FMCG and Education category. The concluding speech was given by Dr Becky Thomas, HoD, MBA. It ended with a vote of thanks by Reetam Datta. It was quite an interesting and fun session for both senior and junior students. The creativity of each clan was reflected in their advertisements.
