SDG 2030 – Interaction With Students, Educators On International Platform.

The Sustainable Development Goals or Global Goals are a collection of 17 interlinked global goals designed to be a "blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all". The SDGs were set up in 2015 by the United Nations General Assembly and are intended to be achieved by the year 2030
.

St Patrick School of Quezon City, the Philippines, organized The International Academic Forum - titled - Unmute Today's Generation: A Call To Action on the SDGs (Rise Up for SDGs) Speakers, students, and educators from all over the globe were invited to speak on how their institute, government, the country was dealing with each SDG on 29th October 2021 at 2:00 PM.

Ms Arpita Ghosh, Sr Counselor at Christ (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus was invited as a speaker. She highlighted the problems faced and measures taken in SDG 3 ( Good Health & Well-being) and SDG 4 (Quality Education).



Most countries spoke about poverty, unemployment, infrastructure – the fact remains that when we work towards good health and being mentally and emotionally strong – achieving other goals is a lot more easier.


Ms Ghosh expressed that as an educational institute when we focus on quality education (SDG4), it will indirectly impact unemployment, poverty, gender issues as the quality of education will be more holistic and inclusive of academics, values, and sports. She also spoke about developing the ability of critical thinking amongst students, which was appreciated by reactors.


At the end of the 3-hour session, it was concluded that irrespective of geographical location, our goals and issues are similar. It is only when we connect, share on such platforms that solutions can be worked upon, as we are all working towards attaining the SDG 2030 agenda.
