PANEL DISCUSSION – MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH
On the occasion of 11th October 2021, Mental Health Awareness day, CCHS (Center for Counseling & Health Services) organized a virtual Panel Discussion for students and staff in CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus.
The panelists were experts from the field of Counseling, Coaching, Psychotherapy sharing their expertise on what causes mental issues, the triggers, and how it affects one’s adulthood when dealing with people.
Our panelists included Ms Mitashi Pawawr – founder of LifeBubble, Ms Meghna Singh – founder of Peace of Mind Counseling Services, and Dr Neeta Mhatre Mishra – founder of ReachOut.
Commenting on the theme for this year -Mental Health in an unequal world, Ms Mitashi Pawar felt that unequal comes with every space we live in, with those we live with, and then extends to the world outside. Most often the impact is created mentally during the growing years between 0 -7 and those are the stories we tell ourselves and believe about ourselves – added Dr Neeta.
Dealing with Mental health means being more self-aware, aware of how we feel. It is about acknowledging, accepting and only then we can deal with it.
There were some questions on passive-aggressiveness that were satisfactorily answered by the panelists.
CCHS also organized a Poster design competition on the same theme for students.
