Workshop on Developing Business Model Canvas

The workshop took place on 9 October 2021 at 2:30 PM in CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus. It started with a welcome speech by Nidhi Singh. The guest of honor was Mr Arjun Panchal, founder, Papazapata- Mexican Indian Fusion. The workshop was attended by almost 150 students.



The welcome speech was followed by the main session. The speaker Mr Arjun Panchalgave a brief introduction about his entrepreneurial journey and talked about different aspects of that journey. The session looked into building business canvas from scratch. Each canvas block was explained through real-life examples. This helped the students in enhancing their knowledge about the canvas as well as made the session more relevant. The entire session was very interactive as practical questions were asked on what exactly is the businesses key functions, how with increase of benefits there is an increase of value etc.


At the end of the workshop, the participants were given an exercise to work in teams for building a business canvas model. The exercise aided in thinking deeper about the knowledge gained in the workshop and applying it. Mr Panchal explained various aspects that can be considered before starting the company. He discussed various factors such as target audience and also explained how to identify them etc. He gave examples of various big products in the market. Various tactics to solve a business problem were discussed too. Mr Panchal’s experience as an entrepreneur facilitated the students gain useful insights for all upcoming entrepreneurs. Not only the students but the faculty members participated in the discussion as well.

The session was followed by a question-answer session where students participated actively. It ended with a vote of thanks by Aman Kumar.
