First Impression On First Day
First day is always crucial for every student. Students from different walks of life and diverse cultural background have joined CHRIST, Lavasa for a two-year degree course in MBA. A Zero Week schedule has been designed for new MBA entrants from 17th to 22nd June 2019. It includes a series of lectures over a period of one-week through a Bridge Course related to Accounting, Business Communication, Statistics etc.
The bridge course has been designed meticulously to orient first year students from multiple disciplines about some core subjects in MBA. The students will be familiarized with all the subjects to be taught so that they gain an understanding of a subject with which they have had little or no exposure till now. Thereby it will orient them for the upcoming courses being offered at CHRIST.
After the students attended a few sessions of the bridge course they expressed their views confidently about their first day in the college.
Shruti Rastogi from Delhi is happy with her choice and finds the faculty encouraging. She feels that they focus on the practical aspect of education. Coming from a crowded place Shruti finds the environment peaceful and conducive for studies and discovering oneself. On the very first day she observed that confidence building is given importance and due emphasis is given to overall presentation. She is quite confident of getting opportunities during placement.
Ummehaani Yusuf also hails from a city and finds everyone extremely friendly. She feels it is a home away from home. She is confident that she will be groomed well for a bright future. Regarding rules and regulations, she thinks that they are important. They may be cumbersome but in no time they will help her to understand their importance of punctuality and discipline. Ummehaani finds the place a bit isolated but she considers it to be the best place to study as there is no distraction which is quite common is a city.
Teresa M Thomas finds the teachers extremely friendly and approachable. She admires them for being very knowledgeable. According to Teresa the seniors are very amiable and reach out to help everyone settle down in the new campus.
