Holistic Education – A Way of Life
Education at CHRIST is not limited to mere text books rather
it transcends the corporate talks and practical hands-on training and moves on
to Holistic Education. Academia is incomplete if holistic education is not
incorporated in the curriculum for an all-round development of a personality. The
HED classes intends to help students understand
the importance of healthy relationships and develop good character
traits.
The students will be taught that
human interaction is not just limited to exchanging pleasantries rather they
ought to develop core beliefs, consider issues which arise when communities
with different values and beliefs try to live together in peace and consider
the role of education in developing understanding between people of different
cultures.
The main objective behind HED sessions will be to help them communicate with
all those with whom they interact in and out of the campus while providing an insight
into concept of healthy relationship. The students will understand that meaningful
relationships require constant communication, respect for others’ opinions,
interdependency and empathy.
There will be various activities
wherein they will share ideas as they engage in critical thinking. Role play,
brain storming sessions, discussions based on a case study etc. would also be
part of the classes.
