`Gracias’ 2019


The corporate mentors from all over India attended `Gracias’ to motivate their respective mentees at Central Block Auditorium, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Lavasa on 29th June 2019. It has been rightly said that ‘a moment of gratitude makes a difference in one’s attitude’. Distance and time held no bars for the corporate mentors who flew miles to be present on this occasion. Hence, like a true Christite, the students expressed their gratitude to their corporate mentors, who made a difference in their lives in a short span.

    The mentors who came for the event were Ms Subheksha Rawat from Genworks, Mr Avinash Jadav and Ms Meetali Raj from IDBI Bank, Ms Vishwani Kwatra from Ispeed, Mr Rakesh Shukla and Mr Pradeep Pandey from Edelwesis, Mr Vishal Pathak from LKP Securities, Mr Zeeshan Harris and Mr Mayank Malviya from Bike doctor, Mr Aditya Bhaskaran from Indus Biotech and Mr Himanshu Bajaj from Bajaj Allianz.


    Varun S Chakraborty and Madhulika Mahara anchored the entire event in perfect coordination.


    The formal part of the event began with welcoming the guests who hail from different fields of the corporate sector. It was followed by the lighting of lamp. Light symbolizes knowledge, purity and dispels darkness, so with this traditional ceremony could recall Lord Buddha’s words of wisdom, ` If you light a lamp for someone else it will brighten your path also’. Dr Fr Jossy George, Director & Dean, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Lavasa, Dr Fr Arun Anthony, Academics coordinator, Mr. JK Pandey, Corporate Relation Manager and the esteemed dignitaries did the honours.

    Director, Dr Fr Jossy George welcomed the corporate mentors and addressed the gathering with an inspirational presentation. Fr Jossy expressed his gratitude for their support during SIP. He noticed a remarkable change in the attitude of the students after internship. The students were able to find correlation between what they studied in the class and their experience in the industry.



    Fr Jossy felt delighted to share the experience of some students during their SIP. As an intern at Trigonella Labs Private Limited, Pune, Shobith handled digital marketing in collaboration with seven others. He learnt the nuances of team work, building a strong network, SEO etc. The positive and constant feedback from his mentor. Mr Adhitya Bhaskar motivated him immensely.

    Similarly Jessy also expressed her gratitude. She worked as an HR intern at SP multi-speciality Hospitals Pvt Ltd, Trivandrum under the mentorship of Ms Liji. She learnt a lot about workplace ethics, new technical skills and above all how to handle work pressure. The total functionality was explained in detail and it was a great learning experience. She looks forward to working with her again in future.

    Poona Satish Kumar’s internship at LKP Securities Ltd under the corporate mentorship of Mr Praveen Naidu was an unforgettable experience. It introduced him to the world of Equity Market. The practical hands-on experience was beneficial. He was impressed by the work culture and learnt that constant communication is the key to success. Each mentee gave a rose to his or her respective corporate mentor as a token of gratitude.

    The anchors gave information about various multidisciplinary UG and PG programs for all students and professional specialization courses being offered to MBA students. Ms. Antara Datta gave details about Finance, Ramraj spoke about Marketing and Eric Premnath gave information about HR.


    The presentation proved that CHRIST lives up to the image it upholds. It is a nurturing ground for an individual’s holistic development to make effective contribution to the society in a dynamic environment. Next Ms. Utsavi Bhatia gave a graceful dance performance.


    Then Sagar Chandra K, Shobith Jimmy and Bhavishya Sajith shared their views on their experience. Bhavishya Sajith was overwhelmed by the experience. She thanked the Director and Mr Praveen, VP, LKP Securities for giving her an opportunity to do internship under his guidance. She felt extremely fortunate for getting an opportunity to work with his financial services firm. The experience gave her a strong insight into the Indian work culture and environment. 


    Despite having some knowledge about financial markets, the internship gave her a clearer picture as to how theoretical knowledge is implemented in practice. At LKP she was highly impressed by their team work and a strong sense of self respect among the employers. It was heartening to observe that every individual was give due respect irrespective of their position.

 As an efficient leader her corporate mentor had a positive influence on his teammates. This internship not just improved her knowledge and proficiency in MS Excel and other software but it also taught her to be observant and learn from the experience of others. Bhavishya is hopeful that CHRIST will gives her more training opportunities to enhance her knowledge and exhibit her managerial skills.

Then the corporate mentors shared their views about their respective mentees. Mr Avinash Jadav from IDBI Bank noticed a radical change in the attitude of the students of CHRIST. He found the students to be well informed before SIP and it facilitated a better understanding of the concept. He motivated them to have a start up of their own.


Ms Subheksha Rawat from Genworks spoke eloquently and encouraged them a lot. As an alumni she motived them to continue working hard and always be on the look out for the best opportunity in the corporate world. 



Mr Aditya Bhaskaran from Indus Biotech praised his mentee Shobith Jimmy and found him extremely proactive. He also found all the students intelligent and bright. Shobith's contribution to the company was noticed by everyone.

The ambience of Lavasa and the culture of CHRIST was appreciated by Mr Rakesh Shukla from Edelwesis and he looks forward to more students coming for SIP.

Mr Vishal Pathak from LKP Securities spoke about limitless career opportunities and inspired the students to work smartly and diligently to achieve their goals.

Mr Himanshu from Bajaj Alliance was mesmerized by the campus. He applauded the college which offers an opportunity to shape the career of the students. Out of box thinking of the mentees caught his attention.

Ms Vishwani Kwatra from Ispeed was highly impressed by the hospitality. She encouraged the students to seize the opportunity with persistentce and do the right things at the right time.

At the end of a memorable program it was a proud moment for the students, whose mentors had come, to present them a memento as a symbol of gratitude and thank them for their presence.



    Finally Mr. JK Pandey, Corporate Relations Manager, delivered a vote of thanks. He expressed his heart felt gratitude to the corporate mentors. He articulated that expressing gratitude by saying “Thank You” is an expression which can only be felt. Their presence encouraged and motivated the students a lot and had infused in them a new energy. He was sure that the students benefitted a lot under their able guidance during the SIP as it was a great learning experience for them. Mr JK Pandey was positive that they will continue to guide and bless them in future. On behalf of Director & Dean, Christ (Deemed to be University), Lavasa, he thanked each one of them for attending the event.

    At the end Christ anthem was played. Each and every student in the audience felt highly obliged to their respective mentor and those who made it to the occasion were escorted for lunch by their respective mentee.
