HR Club, Speranza Inaugurated

Steve Wynn has rightly said, “Human Resources isn’t a thing we do. It’s the thing that runs our business.” On behalf of HR Department Madhulika Mahara welcomed everyone to the inauguration of Human Resource Club; `Speranza’. It gave all HR aspirants a glimpse of what the future holds for them.

The inaugural ceremony of the HR Club, Speranza for the Batch 2019-20 took place in the Auditorium of the Management Block on 21st June 2019. The opening event aimed to showcase HR and its importance in the business world. The students were briefed about the upcoming interactive activities which will be conducted throughout the year.

Director & Dean, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Lavasa, Dr Fr Jossy P George, Academic Co-coordinator, Dr Fr Arun C Anthony, Head of Academics, Dr Binu P Paul, Head of Human Resource Department, Dr Neena PC, CR-HRD, Jessy Sini Das, and Prajwal Vishwanath from new MBA batch lighted the lamp.

`Speranza’ is an Italian word and when translated in English refers to “Hope”. Hope and faith make a person believe in a better future for both the organization as well as the employees. The present world is moving rapidly towards automation but one must remember that automation is introduced to help an organization in performing mundane tasks. As long as human beings are working in an organization, HR personnel would be always needed. This is solely because technology may be an important resource but HR would always be the brain behind it, because a great vision without efficient people cannot be accomplished in isolation.

As enthusiastic members of Speranza the students will have meaningful sessions conducting team building exercises, business games, motivational sessions, quizzes, role-plays, case discussions, etc. in and around the campus throughout the year. The club also aims to refine their knowledge, nurture their attitude and sharpen their skills to handle the emerging challenges and issues in the area of Human Resource Management.

Dr Fr Jossy P George addressed the students and congratulated them on the opening day of their club. He inspired and motivated them to work with grit and determination throughout the year. Fr Jossy encouraged them to work in tandem with each other and help their club to reach greater heights.

Then some fun filled games were conducted, which were quite entertaining. Nilanjan, Amit and Abhijeet coordinated for the game `Breaking Rules’. `Blind Snake’ game was directed by Madhulika and Jayshree. Nikita and Sachin’s game, `Zig Zag’ was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. The last game, `Shape Shift’ was conducted by Eric and Jessie. Finally, Eric Premnath, CR of HR gave a vote of thanks on behalf of HR Club.
