MBA Batch 2019-20 Motivated To Find Their Strength

Mr John K John, Head Leadership Facilitation, addressed the new MBA students and conducted a workshop on “Strength Finder” in the Smart Room on 18th June 2019. Mr John is Gallup Strengths Coach – 1 out of 90 in India. He is also Vice President - Learning and Development, Reliance Industries Limited. His workshop was based on inputs from `Discover your CliftonStrengths’ by Doc Clifton, father of Strengths based Psychology and inventor of `CliftonStrengths’.

In his motivational lecture Mr John inspired the students to tap their hidden potential by using their strength and bringing about a radical change in themselves. It has been rightly observed that quite often human tendency gravitates towards fixing the shortcomings rather than strengthening the strengths. Weakness of an individual is always given importance and reasons for which are often always analyzed. Mr John inspired the young MBA students and said that if students invest energy in developing their strengths, the result can be uplifting and have an indelible impact in their personality.

Mr John informed the students that in order to help people find their talent, Gallup introduced the first version of its online assessment, StrengthsFinder in the 2001 management book `Now, Discover Your Strength’. Many people have taken the CliftonStrengths assessment and have noticed a dramatic difference in their approach after going through a comprehensive report based on their assessment.

The sole aim of the workshop was to help students explore and then develop their natural talent and strength using different strategies. Each student has tremendous potential to stand out in a field of his or her choice. They ought to find their area of specialization and interest and develop their strengths while working on the weaknesses. According to Mr John it is pertinent for the students to put energy into developing their natural talent. The students felt highly motivated and assured Mr John that they will find their talent, nurture it and use it to its maximum potential.
