TED is a nonprofit initiative devoted to spreading ideas, usually in the form of short, powerful talks (18 minutes or less). TED began in 1984 as a conference where Technology, Entertainment and Design converged, and today covers almost all topics — from science to business to global issues — in more than 100 languages. Meanwhile, independently run TEDx events help people share ideas within communities around the world. TEDx is an independently organized TED event which brings together bright and creative minds so that their ideas can reach out to millions of people.
The launch of the event began with a promotional video followed by an energetic flash mob by the team members. The highlight of the launch was the magnificent display of a great TEDx art installation which took roughly 25 days to make.
Director & Dean, Dr. Fr. Jossy George's presence at the event was indeed very inspiring. He expressed his appreciation and was very pleased to see the presentations. Fr Jossy also spoke to the TEDxChristULavasa team sharing his vision and expressed optimism for an eventful event in future. The event was well co-ordinated by the student core committee comprising of Jay Mehta, Utkarsha Mathure and Suraj Muthanna under the guidance of faculty coordinator, Ms Arpita Ghosh.
