Mock Interview Series

The School of Business and Management (MBA), CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus-conducted a comprehensive Mock Interview Series for the academic year 2025–2026. Held on the 1st and 5th of December 2025 in both online and offline modes, the initiative aimed to prepare MBA students for competitive corporate recruitment processes by offering a realistic simulation of interview environments. This structured program was designed to enhance students’ confidence, refine their communication abilities, and strengthen their interview readiness through hands-on practice and expert feedback.

The mock interviews were meticulously planned to ensure inclusivity and individualized attention. Faculty members and external evaluators participated as interviewers, providing students a professional experience similar to real placement interactions. Each student was assessed across multiple parameters including communication skills, conceptual clarity, subject knowledge, analytical thinking, grooming and body language, and overall presentation. This holistic evaluation helped identify students’ strengths while highlighting areas that required improvement, thereby enabling them to develop a targeted action plan.

The series incorporated a variety of interview formats, ensuring well-rounded preparation. Students experienced HR interviews, domain-specific technical interviews, and behavioral interviews based on situational judgment. These formats exposed them to diverse questioning patterns, such as personal introduction, career aspirations, competency-based questions, caselets, and questions on current industry trends. This multi-dimensional approach enabled students to understand the expectations of recruiters and practice structuring responses logically and effectively.

A key highlight of the series was the detailed feedback mechanism. After each interview, students received constructive feedback on their performance, covering aspects such as articulation, clarity, confidence, and professional etiquette. Interviewers also offered guidance on improving resume quality, aligning responses with job roles, and utilizing the STAR method for answering behavioral questions. Many students expressed that the feedback boosted their self-awareness and helped them recognize specific areas to strengthen before participating in final placements.

In addition to interview practice, the initiative contributed to overall personality development. Students learned how to maintain professional body language, enhance verbal and non-verbal communication, and manage interview-related anxiety. The offline sessions provided an opportunity to simulate face-to-face corporate interactions, while the online mode familiarized students with virtual interviews—an increasingly common format in modern recruitment processes.

Overall, the Mock Interview Series served as an enriching experiential learning exercise that significantly enhanced students’ employability skills. It aligned with the department’s commitment to nurturing industry-ready management graduates equipped with strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills. By offering a practical platform for interview preparation, the series helped students build confidence and improve their readiness for campus placements and future corporate roles. The School of Business and Management aims to continue such initiatives as part of its holistic development and placement training strategy, ensuring that students are well-prepared to excel in dynamic and competitive business environments.
