The 3-Day Skill Enhancement Programme on AWS Services provided a comprehensive and immersive learning experience for students and faculty, focusing on essential cloud computing concepts and hands-on technical skills. The programme began with an introduction to the fundamentals of cloud computing, emphasizing the growing global transition from traditional on-premise systems to cloud-based infrastructures. Participants gained clarity on key cloud service models—IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS—and deployment models such as public, private, and hybrid clouds. Real-world use cases shared by trainers helped contextualize the theoretical concepts.

A major strength of the programme was its practical orientation. Participants were introduced to the AWS Management Console and guided through important services including EC2, S3, IAM, and RDS. Each concept was supported by live demonstrations, allowing learners to visualize the creation, configuration, and management of cloud resources. The hands-on lab sessions further reinforced their understanding. Students worked directly with EC2 instances, configured security groups, practiced key pair authentication, and managed data using S3 buckets with versioning and access policies. They also gained experience with IAM by creating users and defining permissions.

The programme also addressed industry-relevant best practices related to architecture, security, and cost optimization. Trainers explained how companies maintain scalable, secure, and cost-efficient cloud environments using monitoring tools such as AWS CloudWatch. These insights offered participants a realistic view of cloud operations in enterprises. The event significantly boosted students’ confidence in working with cloud platforms.
