Meaningful community engagement rarely begins with a rigid checklist of administrative instructions; it sparks through authentic, open conversations that bring people together on equal ground. Recognising the transformative value of this human connection, the Centre for Social Action (CSA) at CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus, organised “Let’s Share” an interactive storytelling and orientation circle designed to welcome incoming students into the sphere of social responsibility. The gathering brought together nearly thirty enthusiastic first-year students, experienced student coordinators, and dedicated faculty mentors under one roof, establishing an inspiring platform to explore grassroots social service. Moving deliberately away from conventional, top-down orientation lectures, the event embraced a non-hierarchical forum rooted in shared personal experiences, mutual

learning, and empathetic dialogue. The session opened with thoughtful reflections from **Prof. Kalpesh**, who offered candid insights from his own personal journey in social volunteering. He emphasised that genuine community service is never a one-sided act of charity, but rather a profoundly mutual learning process that builds emotional resilience, ethical maturity, and active citizenship. Adding depth to this perspective, **Ms. Mariya**, Coordinator of CSA, reinforced the university’s guiding ethos of *Excellence and Service*, reminding participants that sustainable grassroots impact demands humility, patient listening, and an unyielding commitment to understanding lived community realities. Following these grounding opening remarks, the floor was opened to the incoming first-year participants, sparking a lively and expressive dialogue across disciplines. Students from diverse academic streams—including Law, Business Administration, Computer Science, and Data Science—stepped forward to share their personal stories, past volunteering milestones, and individual motivations for joining the CSA family. The welcoming, non-judgmental environment allowed these new volunteers to articulate their societal concerns openly, touching upon environmental sustainability, child educational equity, and rural healthcare access, which quickly forged a strong sense of camaraderie and mutual trust among peers. To

translate this emerging enthusiasm into structured, long-term impact, the session transitioned into an actionable peer-mentorship forum. Senior student leaders—including **Mr. Aditya Dhyani** (Current Sub-Head, Environment & Sustainability Cohort), **Ms. Shubhalaxmi Sagare** (Former Head, Social Entrepreneurship Cohort), and **Sai Saakar** (Former Sub-Head, Child Sponsorship Programme)—took the floor to demystify CSA’s operational structure. They shared firsthand experiences of leading field interventions, navigating logistics, and working directly with neighboring rural communities like Dasve, Bhoini, and Ramnagar. By providing concrete overviews of distinct operational domains—such as self-help group empowerment, ecological conservation, and child welfare initiatives—these student mentors provided the new cohort with a transparent roadmap for leadership succession and active grassroots participation across every level of campus life. The “Let’s Share” session concluded on an invigorating note, having successfully demystified social development work and established a resilient foundation for the academic year ahead. By weaving together personal narratives, institutional values, and practical field strategies, Centre for Social Action (CSA) reaffirmed its vital role as an empowering incubator for empathetic, socially conscious youth leadership dedicated to building lasting change. Through this collaborative beginning, every incoming volunteer is now fully equipped to listen, learn, and lead across communities.
