SURVIVAL INSTINCT : VENTURE PITCH COMPETITION

The School of Business and Management (MBA), Finance club Harmoney organized an event "Survival Instinct: Venture Pitch Competition" on 12th March 2022 & 14th March 2022 at CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus.


The finance club had its third activity and it was hosted by student coordinators i.e. Nandita, Pulkit, Sahithya. Survival Instinct was about each team coming up with a new business idea for Eastman Kodak Company and pitching the idea for funding in front of a venture capitalist. General guidelines were laid down for preparing the pitch, these included:
  • The pitch must be professional and must include: the vision & mission, the business idea, the marketing plan (STP, 4Ps) and the estimated cost for the same.
  • Only a maximum amount of 50 Cr. can be approved.
  • Predicted financials for three years (i.e. predicted sales, market size, profit margins, etc.)
  • Capital structure of the investment (if equity, percentage of share that is diluted for the investment.)

The event was conducted offline and was extended for two days- 12th March & 14th March. Every team came up with a different business idea for the company that included a Kodak CCTV camera, Pro max 360 Action camera, Kodak E-mop, e-helmet. All the teams gave their best and presented the financials for the upcoming three years.

The panel of judges were the faculty in charge i.e. Dr Danish Hussain and Prof Mohit Boralkar. They asked questions and evaluated each business idea on various parameters such as the feasibility of the business, predicted financial statements, scalability, turnover and most importantly the equity dilution offered.


The event was interactive and primarily focused on critical financial concepts. Every participating team was given feedback by judges. The activity turned out to be a good learning experience for the students, especially in terms of revisiting important financial concepts, application of these concepts and enhancing critical thinking.

PANEL DISCUSSION ON LEADERSHIP & ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT SKILLS

The School of Commerce, Finance and Accountancy organized a "Panel Discussion on Leadership and Entrepreneurship Development Skill " on 4th March 2022 at 1:30 PM at CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus.   Ms Ayushi Chandna student of 6 BCom (Financial Analytics) commenced the session with silent prayer & briefed about the Panel Discussion. The Third International Conference on Data Science, Computation and Security (IDSCS-22) hosted by CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus in association with Springer from 11th to 12th February 2022. The conference was conducted online with participants from all across the globe. The conference commenced with the inauguration ceremony at 9:30 AM.
