Alumni Session on Confronting Your Strengths: A Goal Setting Perspective

The School of Business and Management- BBA successfully organized an engaging alumni interaction session titled “Confronting Your Strengths: A Goal Setting Perspective”, featuring Mr. Aarush Prakash Rai, an accomplished alumnus from the batch of 2022, who is now a successful entrepreneur and lifestyle coach. The event aimed to help students identify their innate strengths, set purposeful goals, and utilize their campus experience as a foundation for personal and professional growth. This session was jointly organized by the Grooming & Personality Development Committee and the Alumni Committee of the School of Business and Management (BBA). It is part of the department’s ongoing efforts, through the Grooming & Personality Development Committee, to conduct sessions that promote self-awareness, effective goal setting, and holistic student development.

The session commenced with a warm welcome from the faculty coordinator, followed by a detailed introduction of Mr. Aarush, highlighting his professional accomplishments since graduating. Through engaging storytelling and real-life experiences, Mr. Aarush emphasized the significance of self-awareness, authenticity, and adaptability as key drivers of career success. Students were encouraged to recognize their unique strengths beyond academic performance and utilize them strategically for long-term career planning.

Mr. Aarush elaborated on practical goal-setting techniques, illustrating how aligning personal strengths with professional objectives can enhance resilience and adaptability. The discussion focused on cultivating a growth mindset, where challenges are seen as opportunities for learning and failure as a pathway to improvement. The session also highlighted the importance of emotional intelligence, professional presence, and comment certificates of appreciation to the speaker. Feedback collected from participants reflected high satisfaction, with many noting that the session was “motivating,” “practical,” and “highly relevant” to their future career and personal development skills  aspects often overlooked in conventional classroom settings but highly valued in professional environments.

A key highlight of the interaction was the strong emphasis on utilizing campus resources and experiences as a foundation for personal and professional growth. Mr. Aarush shared how his active involvement in various student clubs, leadership roles, and academic projects during his time at CHRIST University significantly contributed to his entrepreneurial journey. These experiences, he noted, were instrumental in developing essential skills such as strategic thinking, collaboration, communication, and leadership—all of which became invaluable in his transition from student life to running a successful business venture.

He encouraged students to look beyond classroom learning and to perceive every campus opportunity—be it events, internships, or social initiatives—as a platform to refine their abilities and broaden their perspectives. By engaging in co-curricular and extracurricular activities, students can cultivate vital soft skills such as teamwork, creative problem-solving, emotional intelligence, and adaptability, which are indispensable in today’s competitive and dynamic professional world.

The interactive Q&A segment that followed added immense value to the session. Participants eagerly sought guidance on topics like time management, career decision-making, maintaining motivation, and handling self-doubt. Mr. Aarush responded with practical insights drawn from his own experiences, emphasizing that clarity of purpose, consistent discipline, and adaptability are crucial in achieving both short-term and long-term goals. He advised students to remain authentic and value-driven, reminding them that personal integrity and self-awareness form the foundation of sustainable success.
