Preparatory Session for Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025
As part of the outreach initiative of the School of Business and Management (BBA), CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus, a special interactive session was organized for selected students from Dasve Public School who are preparing to participate in the Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025. The session aimed to guide young innovators in understanding strategic thinking, design ideation, and project conceptualization—key elements required to perform effectively in the national-level competition.
The session was facilitated by Prof. (Dr.) Amit Seth, a distinguished faculty member of the School of Business and Management, renowned for his expertise in strategic management and entrepreneurship. Recognizing his experience in innovation-driven learning and startup ecosystem mentoring, Dasve Public School invited Dr. Seth to conduct this exclusive session for their 10 shortlisted students who will represent the school at the upcoming Buildathon.
The session commenced at 12:00 PM at the school premises with a brief introduction by the school coordinator, who highlighted the purpose of the session and appreciated the support extended by Christ University as part of its community engagement and academic outreach programs.Dr. Amit Seth began by introducing the concept and objectives of the Viksit Bharat Buildathon, explaining how the competition aims to encourage young minds to generate practical, impactful solutions for India’s development goals. He motivated the students to adopt an entrepreneurial and design-thinking mindset, emphasizing that innovation starts with identifying real-world problems and creatively developing solutions that are feasible and sustainable.
Throughout the session, Dr. Seth discussed the strategic preparation required for the Buildathon, guiding students on how to brainstorm ideas, identify problem statements, and translate them into structured project proposals. He encouraged participants to think critically about issues aligned with sustainability, technology, education, and rural development, which form the core themes of the competition.
To make the discussion interactive, Dr. Seth divided the students into small groups and assigned brainstorming exercises. Students were asked to come up with preliminary ideas that address local challenges in their community, such as waste management, renewable energy use, and digital learning for rural schools. This hands-on activity helped the students understand the process of ideation, prioritization, and teamwork—crucial elements for Buildathon success.
Dr. Seth also explained the importance of strategic planning and presentation skills, highlighting how to pitch innovative ideas effectively to judges and stakeholders. He encouraged the participants to focus on clarity, creativity, and scalability of their ideas. The session concluded with an open Q&A round where students shared their proposed ideas, and Dr. Seth provided constructive feedback to refine their approach. The session ended at 1:30 PM, leaving the students inspired and motivated to work on their Buildathon projects with renewed confidence and direction. Teachers and students of Dasve Public School expressed their gratitude to Christ University for extending its expertise and academic mentorship.
Overall, the session served as an excellent example of university-school collaboration, strengthening the department’s outreach objectives. It effectively bridged academic knowledge with practical application, aligning with SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure). The initiative demonstrated Christ University’s commitment to nurturing young talent, promoting innovation, and contributing to the nation’s vision of a developed and self-reliant India.
