Corporate Interface on Financial Planning and Wealth Management



  
A Corporate Interface on Financial Planning and Wealth Management was arranged for all first year and second year Finance (Major/minor) students on Friday, 19th July 2019 between 2.30 to 5.00 pm in the auditorium of Management Block, Lavasa.


Mr Sandeep Harshavardhan Sahasrabudhe, Proprietor Moneywise Weallth Planners and Sanay Property Consultants gave a significant talk. He is also Director Club ELROW WORLDWide Properties and Managing Director of The 3 Musketeers Pub, Viman Nagar. Apart from these distinguished posts he is also a visiting faculty at several MBA institutes in Pune and delivers lectures on Wealth Management and Financial Planning.

 Dr Ambuj Gupta delivered the welcome note in honour of the Guest Speaker. Mr Sandeep began the talk with a discussion on an important asset which is property. He critically analyzed the pros and cons of investing in property in India Vs investing in any property abroad.

Mr Sandeep informed that real estate market in India is saturated currently. The property outside India is quite affordable and is hopeful of tremendous appreciation if any investment is made in it. He gave a detailed example of Thailand. Mr Sandeep also explained the entire scenario with specific reference to financial calculations. It included cost of ownership, loan aspect, growth and appreciation in value, leverage etc.

The students were impressed by his out-of--the-box perspective on investment in property all over the world. He also discussed the case of Georgia as an investment destination. He gave real time examples and it kept everyone engrossed in the talk.

The next topic was about cryptocurrency, history and uses of bitcoins with specific reference to mining bitcoins. It was interesting to note that It is very easy to transfer bitcoins across the globe at a very minimal cost as compared to transfer of money through banking system.

Then Mr Sandeep shared his views on investment in unlisted shares which involves huge capital appreciation. He gave example of Paytm stock.

He spoke at length about comprehensive financial planning and wealth management solutions across all asset classes: Financial, Physical and Digital Assets. Mr Sandeep brought to their notice that Mutual Funds is a proven tool for wealth creation both for bulk investment and SIPs.

Then there was an interactive session and he answered their questions about career in Finance and other related topics. The students felt that understanding the nuances of finance is not a cake walk for many but Mr Sandeep simplified the concept by giving suitable examples from real world and helped them to understand the concept in totality. Mr Sandeep was felicitated by Prof Soumya V at the end of the talk.
