OST Presentation Competition
Selected first year students of MBA at CHRIST, Lavasa participated in OST (Organizational Structure Training) Presentation Competition that was held on 11th July 2019 in the Conference Hall, Management Block.
The first year students are slowly and gradually getting into
the mode of serious studies and beginning to understand some concepts like OST
and in no time they will be introduced to SIP (Summer Internship Program) and
CIP (Corporate Immersion Program). The students are keen to know more and are enthusiastic
enough to ask pertinent questions pertaining to their lessons.
Once a student gets
admission for MBA at CU he/she is expected to become acquainted with the
functioning of a manufacturing company before commencement of the course. Ideally
a student identifies a company of his/her choice and gets practical training
for nearly a month.
During this period,
he becomes acquainted with corporate culture of the company. Then the student
prepares a report about the company under the guidance of one of the professors
at college who acts as his mentor. The comprehensive report focuses on major
activities of the company, it’s organizational structure, products, sales,
strategies etc. Once a student formally joins the college a presentation is made
for his/her respective mentor based on the experience. Then each mentor selects
the best mentee for the final competition.
Among the nominated
mentees Sumanth Pulagante had a great learning experience at Capricorn
Food Products Capricorn Food products
India ltd. Since he is from an engineering background so it was
interesting to understand the nuances of this food manufacturing industry.

a lot about supply chain management.

SWOT analysis was also quite useful.
Madhan Sailesh M undertook OST at KM Knitwear
Pvt. Ltd. The entire training
process offered a plethora of information and he is positive that it will help
him to understand the functioning process of an industry as a professional. He feels
that such pre-preparedness will help him to understand the concepts
theoretically in the class and later it will benefit him professionally. Madhan
is of the opinion that OST has proved extremely beneficial.
Treesa M Thomas went to Paragon Paragon
Ltd and understood the way each department functions. She was highly impressed by the work culture
in the industry and the practical hands on training was a great learning experience.

information before understanding the core concepts in the class.

with them.

Centre. It is a steel processing center. She was highly impressed by the performance
of the people who worked relentlessly and did not succumb to pressure. They managed
to strike a balance between personal and professional life. Rhea learnt that
maintaining discipline is an integral part of work culture. It reflects the
work ethics being followed by an organization when they work in tandem with
each other.
The OST presentation proved that the students were able to
understand the concept in totality. The audience appreciated the efforts of the
participants and were able to recall their own experience. The first prize went
