CHRIST Lavasa Beckons Visitors From University of Cincinnati

CHRIST Lavasa always beckons and warmly welcomes visitors from India and abroad and likes to stay connected with them. Delegates from University of Cincinnati visited the sprawling and beautiful campus of CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Lavasa on 19th July 2019. The dignitaries were Dr Raj Mehta - Vice Provost International, Director of Honors and Professor of Marketing, Dr Piyush Swami - Professor Emeritus – School of Education and Dr Ana Vamadeva - Director International Strategic Partnerships and Associate Professor of Mathematics.

They thoroughly enjoyed spending an idyllic time enjoying the pristine beauty of Lavasa. They were indeed mesmerized by the rain, lush greenery, spic and span Management Block and Central Block. They were highly appreciative of the efforts of Director & Dean, Dr Fr Jossy P George in maintaining the standard of CHRIST.

The brief visit offered them a break from the routine and the cool ambience helped them to unwind. Unanimously they felt that such short getaways help to think beyond the obvious and connects them with their inner self.

A well drafted presentation by Head of Academics, Dr Binu P Paul gave them an insight into life in the campus. The visit cemented the bond between them and CHRIST as they interacted with each other at the personal and professional level. Such visits nurture mutual interaction and help to understand each other’s culture.

The highlight of the visit was a discussion on areas of collaboration between CHRIST, Lavasa and University of Cincinnati. There was a proposal for faculty members to connect with each other. They were able to identify possible fields for collaboration such as Social Science and Business.  It was also brought to everyone's notice that around 70% retired faculty members of University of Cincinnati have expressed willingness to travel for 5/6 weeks for an exchange program.

They unanimously agreed that CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Lavasa offers a breath of fresh air and proximity to nature makes it very conducive to any kind of learning. The visitors were spellbound by the sheer beauty of this private city. They thoroughly enjoyed going around the campus and admired the calm and serene environment. Mementos were given as a token of love to all the delegates by Dr Fr Jossy George.

The visit was coordinated by CRM, Mr J K Pandey on behalf of CIML.
