Fabulous Fresher’s Party - “MIXPAH”

It was a wonderful evening when CHRIST fraternity assembled for an exciting Fresher’s Party for the undergraduates. It began with an introduction to the “Bohemian” Theme which was clearly reflected in their costume. The theme of the Fresher’s party for UG students was ‘Bohemian’. The students made maximum usage of floral prints, garlands or flowers to create the right ambience and get in touch with nature.
The young gorgeous girls looked pretty and charming while the handsome boys did not lag behind in doing justice to the theme. Everyone eyed for the coveted title of Mr and Ms Best Dressed.
The audience was introduced to the meaning of `IMIXPAH’ which means an emotional bond between people. The most unique part about the party was that it was given for the students and by the students since it is the very first batch of undergraduates. This will indeed cement a bond of deep friendship and trust among all Christites.
Academic Coordinator, Fr. Arun Antony gave the welcome address. As he welcomed everyone he wondered about the actual meaning of the word Bohemian. Fr Arun defined it accurately. He wished them to consider their stay as an opportunity to express their interest in art, music or dance apart from academics. Fr Arun articulated that the students must cherish the momentous moments of their stay in and out of the campus. They must look for numerous opportunities to express their talent. He concluded by saying that their life should be a continuous journey of this expression.
The finalists for the much awaited event; Mr. and Ms. Fresher were asked to come on the stage and they were interviewed by a panel of judges.
The mashup (Indian classical) performance was awesome then it was followed by second music team to perform an indo-western mashup.
The first round for Mr and Ms Fresher ’19 was exciting and it was cheered by everyone. They got precisely a minute to showcase their talents.
Then the audience was roped in to take part in a thrilling balloon race. It was a fun filled game wherein a balloon was tied to their foot and they had to manoeuver and burst the other person’s balloon, whilst protecting your own simultaneously.
It was followed by another interactive game, 'Treasure Hunt'. The fastest person to solve the clue and report to Prof. Amrita was the winner. In the meantime an enigmatic duet dance performance by Akruti and Aachal kept everyone spellbound. It was followed by muscle flexing and strength of stamina display through `Tug of War’.
Then yet another exciting round ` The Stress Round’. It was quite challenging to watch the contestants answered a volley of questions and did their best to impress the judges. Next, `The Cliché Boys’ kept everyone engaged and engrossed through their energetic performance.
Finally there was a call for much awaited event and the results were declared. The prize for best dressed male and female went to Nihal Thapa and Vaishali Gurung respectively. Whereas the coveted title of Mr and Ms Fresher ’19 was clinched by Dhruv and Nandini respectively.

Fr. Arun Antony congratulated and crowned the winners and the exciting evening ended with dinner and dance. It was brilliantly anchored by Tanwant Singh Nahar (BBA B), Poorvi (B Sc A), Nihal Thapa (B Sc A) and Kalyani (BBA B).
