Club Activity on 17th January 2026

The Club Activity Session, held on 17th January 2025 from 10:30 AM to 12:20 PM, marked the energetic commencement of the Even Semester for the Academic Year 2025–26 at the School of Business and Management – BBA, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus – ‘The Hub of Analytics’. Conducted across multiple BBA classrooms in the Management Block, the event brought together eight active student clubs, engaging 124 first- and second-year BBA students, with the support of 17 student volunteers, under the coordination of Ms. Devleena Banerjee.

The primary objective of the session was to reintegrate students after the semester break, foster peer interaction, and introduce foundational professional and analytical skills through interactive, club-driven activities. A prominent theme across several sessions was ice-breaking and reconnection, setting a positive and inclusive tone for the new semester.

The MDQ Club (Classroom 2313) and Marketing Club (Classroom 2404) effectively utilized interactive games such as Dumb Charades to break social barriers, encourage spontaneous collaboration, and strengthen team bonding. While the MDQ Club focused on trust-building and creativity through mixed-group participation, the Marketing Club blended fun with learning by following the ice-breaker with a case study on Coca-Cola, enabling students to analyze real-world marketing strategies and consumer insights.

Skill-based learning formed the backbone of several sessions. The Analytics Club (Classroom 2312) conducted a foundational workshop on Search Engine Optimization (SEO), explaining how search engines function and why digital visibility is crucial in today’s data-driven landscape. Key concepts such as keywords, on-page and off-page optimization, and search rankings were explained using relatable real-world examples. Similarly, the Finance Club (Classroom 2405)demystified Initial Public Offerings (IPOs), guiding students through the rationale for companies going public, eligibility requirements, application procedures, and investment considerations, supported by examples from recent IPOs.

Critical thinking and ethical reasoning were strongly emphasized. The ED Club (Classroom 2400) hosted an engaging debate titled “The Business Should Not Exist”, where students critically examined controversial yet profitable business models such as fast fashion and astrology apps. Assigned “For” and “Against” stances encouraged participants to evaluate ethics, sustainability, and social responsibility beyond profitability. The HRM Club (Classroom 2403) presented real-world HR scenarios involving ethical dilemmas and policy conflicts, challenging students to identify mistakes, propose corrective actions, and assess consequences under time constraints.

Communication and branding were explored creatively by other clubs. The Communi-Cat Club (Classroom 2401)conducted a “Mute & Translate” activity highlighting the importance of non-verbal communication, while the SMPR Club (Classroom 2402) analyzed brand storytelling through marketing videos and facilitated an open forum for student feedback and future activity planning.

Overall, the Club Activity Session successfully balanced engagement, skill development, and critical inquiry, ensuring students began the semester with renewed enthusiasm, stronger peer connections, and a clearer understanding of professional competencies relevant to their academic journey.
