Global Perspectives on Business, Entrepreneurship, and Sustainable Leadership

The Centre for Academic Professional Support (CAPS), Pune Lavasa Campus, in collaboration with the School of Commerce, Finance & Accountancy, is organizing an intellectually stimulating academic session titled “Global Perspectives on Business, Entrepreneurship, and Sustainable Leadership.” This programme is designed to provide students and faculty with valuable international insights into contemporary business practices, entrepreneurial ecosystems, and leadership approaches that emphasize sustainability and long-term impact.

In an increasingly interconnected global economy, businesses today operate in dynamic environments shaped by technological advancement, cultural diversity, environmental responsibility, and ethical governance. This session aims to bridge the gap between theory and practice by exposing participants to global viewpoints on how organizations innovate, grow, and lead responsibly in a rapidly changing world. The event underscores the importance of developing entrepreneurial thinking and sustainable leadership competencies among future business professionals.

The session will feature two distinguished international academicians from Germany. Dr. Michael Graffius, Professor of Business Administration at IU International University – Dual Studies, Berlin, brings extensive experience in applied business education and industry-linked academic practice. His expertise offers valuable perspectives on global business strategies, entrepreneurial development, and the integration of academic knowledge with real-world business applications.

Joining him is Dr. Birgit Felden, Professor of Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) and Succession at the Department of Business and Economics, Berlin School of Economics and Law. Dr. Felden is renowned for her work in the areas of entrepreneurship, family businesses, and leadership succession. Her insights into sustainable leadership, particularly within SMEs and generational enterprises, add significant depth to the discussion on responsible and resilient business models.

Scheduled on Wednesday, 4th February 2026, from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM, the session will be held at Room No. 2226, Management Block, Pune Lavasa Campus. The programme provides a platform for students to engage with international scholars, gain exposure to global academic standards, and broaden their understanding of business and leadership beyond local contexts.

This collaborative initiative reflects CHRIST (Deemed to be University)’s commitment to academic excellence, global engagement, and holistic student development. By fostering dialogue on entrepreneurship and sustainable leadership, the session aligns with the institution’s vision of nurturing socially responsible, ethically grounded, and globally competent professionals.

Overall, the programme promises to be an enriching learning experience, offering participants an opportunity to interact with experts, explore global best practices, and gain meaningful insights that will support their academic growth and professional aspirations in the field of commerce and management.
