Agentic AI: From Concepts to Intelligent Action
The Centre for Artificial Intelligence at CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus, witnessed an engaging exploration of emerging technologies as 15 AI Guild members participated in a two-day hands-on workshop on Agentic AI. The workshop introduced students to the evolving field of intelligent systems capable of performing goal-oriented tasks, supporting decision-making, and managing multi-step workflows. The programme provided an opportunity for students to explore the possibilities of Agentic AI and understand its growing significance in the technology-driven world.
Titled “Agentic AI: From Concepts to Intelligent Action,” the workshop was organized by the Centre for Artificial Intelligence in collaboration with the Department of Computer Science. The sessions were led by Mr. Rosh R, a member of the Centre for Artificial Intelligence and a student from the B.Sc. Data Science 2023 batch at the Pune Lavasa Campus. The initiative aimed to introduce participants to the fundamental concepts, working principles, and practical applications of Agentic AI while encouraging them to explore innovative approaches to solving real-world problems.
The two-day programme focused on experiential learning, combining conceptual discussions with hands-on activities. Participants actively engaged with the topics and explored how intelligent systems can move beyond basic conversational interactions to perform tasks, assist users, and support complex workflows. Through practical exploration, students developed an understanding of how Agentic AI can contribute to automation, improve efficiency, and support decision-making across different domains. The interactive learning environment encouraged participants to ask questions, exchange ideas, and develop their technical understanding of this emerging technology. The workshop helped participants gain insights into the capabilities and potential applications of Agentic AI, particularly in intelligent task execution and workflow automation. It also encouraged them to think critically about the role of AI in addressing practical challenges and identifying opportunities for technological innovation. The hands-on approach strengthened their interest in artificial intelligence and motivated them to pursue further learning and experimentation in this rapidly developing field.
The initiative also highlighted the importance of student-led learning and collaboration within the university. By enabling an AI Guild member to lead the workshop, the programme provided an opportunity for students to share knowledge, demonstrate leadership, and contribute to the academic activities of the Centre for Artificial Intelligence. Such initiatives foster a collaborative learning culture in which students are encouraged to take ownership of their learning and actively participate in the university’s technology and innovation ecosystem. The workshop reflected CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus’s commitment to promoting academic excellence, technological awareness, and practical skill development. By providing students with opportunities to engage with emerging technologies, the Centre for Artificial Intelligence continues to support learning experiences that prepare students for the challenges and opportunities of an increasingly AI-driven world.
As artificial intelligence continues to evolve, initiatives such as this workshop serve as important platforms for knowledge sharing, experimentation, and innovation. The programme marked a meaningful step towards encouraging students to explore intelligent technologies and contribute to the future of AI-driven solutions.
