Investiture Ceremony of the Committees in School of Law
Embracing the Torchbearers: Honouring Leadership at Our Investiture Ceremony
"Leadership is not a title, it is a role that demands active action. Once you imbibe this trait you will learn to cherish every step you take, under its mighty shade."
On 30 September 2026, the Student Bar Association (SBA), School of Law, marked a significant transition of leadership with its Investiture Ceremony 2026, organised by the Art and Culture Committee (ACT). The ceremony was a moment of pride, reflection, and renewed purpose for the entire law fraternity.
Preparations began about a month before the ceremony, and students took part in the entire process wholeheartedly. Once the official announcement was made, prospective leaders came forward and nominated themselves for various positions, each bringing fresh ideas and a desire to contribute to the student community. The process encouraged healthy participation and gave students a real opportunity to step into roles of responsibility. Behind the scenes, the organising team worked with great coordination and dedication to ensure that every detail of the event reflected the dignity of the occasion.
A key part of the ceremony was recognising those who had led before. The outgoing Convenors were presented with Letters of Appreciation in recognition of their dedication, leadership, and contribution towards the functioning of their respective clubs and committees under the SBA. Their efforts over the past year, from organising events and encouraging participation to guiding fellow students, laid a strong foundation for the future. The gesture was a heartfelt acknowledgement that every act of service, big or small, leaves a lasting impact on the institution. The new leadership team was then warmly welcomed and formally presented with their Letters of Appointment and SBA badges. The badges symbolised not merely a position, but the responsibility, commitment, and accountability that come with it. As the newly appointed leaders accepted their roles, the atmosphere reflected both excitement and a sense of duty. They now carry the trust of their peers and the task of upholding the values the SBA stands for.
With multiple clubs and committees functioning under the SBA, the ceremony represented more than a change in names. It marked the continuation of a collective vision built on student participation, initiative, and leadership. Each club and committee contributes in its own way, whether through academic engagement, cultural activities, or community outreach, and together they shape a vibrant and well-rounded campus life. The ceremony reaffirmed that the strength of the SBA lies in the unity and enthusiasm of its members.
As one chapter came to a close and another began, the Investiture Ceremony served as a reminder that leadership is not simply about holding a title, but about carrying forward a legacy while creating one of your own. To the outgoing Convenors, we extend our sincere gratitude for their service. To the new torchbearers, we offer our best wishes as they begin this journey. May they lead with integrity, empathy, and vision, and may their tenure inspire the next generation of leaders at the School of Law.
