Aptitude Training
The **Centre for Placement and Career Guidance (CPCG)**, in collaboration with the **School of Business and Management – BBA**, organised a three-day **Aptitude Training** programme from **17 to 19 September 2026** as part of the academic year 2026–27. The programme was conducted as a placement training initiative with the objective of strengthening students’ quantitative aptitude, logical reasoning, analytical thinking, and test-taking abilities, thereby enhancing their preparedness for contemporary corporate recruitment processes.
Aptitude assessments have become an important component of many corporate recruitment processes, often serving as an initial screening stage for candidates. While students may possess strong knowledge within their respective academic disciplines, recruitment assessments frequently require additional competencies such as speed-based mathematical problem solving, logical reasoning, pattern recognition, data interpretation, and effective time management. The training programme was designed to address these requirements and provide students with structured exposure to the skills expected during competitive selection processes.
The programme focused on developing students’ ability to approach aptitude questions systematically and efficiently. Participants were introduced to **arithmetic shortcuts, algebraic principles, speed-math techniques, logical reasoning frameworks, data interpretation methods, and test-taking strategies**. Through instructor-led problem-solving modules and interactive learning activities, students were encouraged to develop practical approaches that could be applied during placement assessments.
A significant component of the training focused on **logical and analytical reasoning**. Students worked with different types of reasoning problems, including logical puzzles, seating arrangements, syllogisms, and critical reasoning questions. The sessions were designed to help students identify patterns, analyse information systematically, and arrive at valid conclusions within limited timeframes. Data interpretation was also addressed through exercises involving numerical datasets, charts, graphs, and tabular representations, enabling students to strengthen their ability to interpret and compare information accurately.
The training also emphasised the importance of **time management and strategic test-taking**. Students were introduced to question-selection and answer-elimination techniques aimed at improving efficiency during aptitude tests. Timed simulation exercises provided an opportunity for participants to practise solving questions under conditions similar to those encountered during recruitment assessments. The programme also aimed to help students understand their individual performance through structured assessments and diagnostic metrics, enabling them to identify areas requiring further preparation. The programme was facilitated by **Mr. Rajeev Kharbanda**, Professional Aptitude Trainer, and **Mr. Sameer D. Inpure**, Professional Trainer at ZesTech. Mr. Kharbanda specialises in Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, Verbal Ability, Campus Recruitment Training, and Placement Readiness. He has conducted training programmes for students and faculty members at institutions including NIT Jaipur and has delivered Infosys-sponsored Faculty Development Programmes. His experience also includes Infosys-specific campus recruitment training for B.Tech and MCA students.
Mr. Sameer D. Inpure brings extensive experience in aptitude and reasoning training, mentoring, and education. He has conducted training programmes at several educational institutions, including PCCOE, DY Patil, VCET, Marwadi University, Parul University, Sinhgad College of Engineering, VESIM, and Chetana’s Hazarimal Somani College. His experience with educational platforms such as Testbook and Unacademy has further contributed to his expertise in quantitative aptitude, logical reasoning, competitive examinations, and placement-oriented preparation.
The programme was aligned with the **CPCG vision of nurturing employable graduates** and its objective of identifying and developing competencies based on industry inputs. By providing structured placement preparation, the initiative sought to ensure that students across academic streams have access to relevant career-preparatory resources and opportunities.
Overall, the **Aptitude Training programme** provided students with an opportunity to strengthen essential competencies required for competitive recruitment assessments. Through practical problem solving, reasoning exercises, data interpretation, timed practice, and performance assessment, the programme contributed to students’ placement preparedness and their ability to approach corporate selection processes with greater structure and awareness. The initiative also supported **SDG 4: Quality Education** and **SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth**, reflecting the University's commitment to developing industry-relevant skills and enhancing students’ readiness for future professional opportunities.
