CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus, organised a Digital Transformation and Modern Technologies Awareness Program at the Auditorium, Central Block, to familiarise students with the growing importance of digital transformation and emerging technologies. The program brought together first-year and second-year students from B.Sc., BCA, and M.Sc. programmes, encouraging them to explore technological advancements and their applications in education, research, and professional development.

The session was conducted by Dr. Rimy Nandy, Assistant Professor, who served as the resource person. The initiative aimed to enhance students’ technological awareness, encourage innovation, and help them understand the relevance of digital solutions in addressing real-world challenges.

Understanding Digital Transformation

Digital transformation involves integrating digital technologies into everyday activities, organisational processes, and professional practices. It has significantly changed how people communicate, access information, conduct research, and deliver services. The program highlighted that digital technologies are no longer restricted to computer science and information technology but are increasingly relevant across disciplines such as healthcare, business, science, management, and social research.

Students were encouraged to recognise how technological advancements create opportunities for innovation, improve efficiency, and support effective problem-solving. The session emphasised the importance of staying informed about emerging digital trends and understanding their practical applications.

Exploring Modern and Emerging Technologies

The program introduced the relevance of emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), data analytics, cloud computing, and automation. These technologies are transforming industries and creating new possibilities across academic and professional environments.

AI supports information analysis, task automation, and decision-making, while data analytics helps identify patterns and derive meaningful insights. Cloud computing enables convenient access to digital resources, and automation improves productivity by streamlining processes. Undergraduate students can strengthen their foundational digital skills, while postgraduate students can explore opportunities for advanced learning, research, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
