VidyalAI: AI and Cyber Safety Awareness for Adolescents and Parents

VidyalAI Brought Cutting-Edge Tech Insights to Jabalpur

As artificial intelligence becomes increasingly embedded in everyday life, young learners need more than just access to technology—they need the awareness to use it responsibly, safely, and purposefully. With this objective, the Department of Statistics and Data Science, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus, conducted VidyalAI: AI and Cyber Safety Awareness for Adolescents and Parents, a multi-school outreach initiative in Jabalpur.

Conducted from 28 to 30 September 2026, the programme reached approximately 400 students through school-based interactions, an education fair, faculty engagement, and meetings with institutional leaders. The initiative focused on making emerging technologies approachable while creating awareness about artificial intelligence, cyber safety, responsible digital practices, higher education, and future academic and career opportunities.

The outreach began on 28 September with visits to St. Aloysius School, Panagar, where the team engaged with both students and faculty members, and St. Aloysius Senior Secondary School, Polipathar, where a dedicated student interaction session was conducted. These sessions created space for students to ask questions, explore the growing influence of technology, and better understand how emerging fields are shaping education and careers. On 29 September, the team participated in an Education Fair at Satya Prakash Public School, providing a wider platform to interact with students and discuss academic opportunities and future pathways. This was followed by a visit to St. Aloysius Senior Secondary School, Rimjha, where another student-focused outreach session was held. Jabalpur Schools - Google Sheets

The programme also placed significant emphasis on building long-term institutional relationships. Meetings and discussions with school leadership, including the Principal of St. Joseph’s Convent Girls’ Senior Secondary School, Jabalpur Cantt., enabled conversations around future student engagement and academic collaboration. On 30 September, the outreach concluded with a meeting with the Principal at St. Aloysius Institute of Technology (Education), further strengthening the network established during the visit. What distinguished VidyalAI was its combination of student awareness, faculty interaction, institutional networking, and higher-education outreach. Rather than limiting the programme to one-way presentations, the team engaged directly with participants, responded to questions, and adapted the interactions to the context of each institution.

Coordinating multiple institutions within a three-day schedule required flexibility, particularly in managing school timings, different interaction formats, and the availability of faculty and institutional leaders. However, these challenges also enabled the team to create more focused and personalised engagements.

The Jabalpur outreach reflected CHRIST University’s commitment to “Excellence and Service” by taking learning beyond the campus and connecting directly with school communities. VidyalAI demonstrated how universities can contribute to preparing young people for a rapidly changing digital world — not simply by introducing new technologies, but by encouraging informed choices, responsible technology use, and curiosity about the future.

The programme concluded with stronger school–university connections and clear opportunities for continued outreach, career guidance, academic workshops, and collaborative engagement, while creating a foundation for sustained partnerships, meaningful student support, and future initiatives focused on digital awareness and education.
