Movie Screening - Chhichhore
On October 1, 2026, the Activity Hub at CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus—affectionately known as 'The Hub of Analytics'—transformed into a vibrant venue of cinema, food, and social engagement. Organized by the Inclusiverse Club for the 2026–2027 academic year, the Chhichhore Movie Screening & Food Stall fundraiser was designed with a dual objective: to bring the campus community together through accessible entertainment while raising vital funds for a meaningful cause.
In the fast-paced environment of higher education, creating informal spaces where students can pause, connect, and contribute to social causes is vital. The Inclusiverse Club achieved this by pairing a relatable movie with a themed culinary experience, demonstrating that impactful student fundraising can be both engaging and effective.
Reel Hits and Real Bites
The centerpiece of the evening was a screening of the acclaimed film Chhichhore. The film's core themes—celebrating friendship, coping with academic pressure, and redefining success—resonated strongly with the student body. Gathering at the Activity Hub, 80 student attendees took a welcome break from their academic routines to relax, share laughs, and strengthen peer relationships.
Operating alongside the screening was the themed "Chhichhore Snacks" food stall, managed entirely by student volunteers. The stall featured a customized menu of budget-friendly snacks and combos, including popular choices like Chhichhore Nachos, Chaat Pe Charcha, and Masala Masti. For attendees seeking a full snack package, combo offers such as Snack Attack, Chaat and Chill, and the Chhichhore Special kept the stall active throughout the event. The food stall served as both a popular gathering spot and a direct revenue stream for the fundraising campaign.By the Numbers: Impact & Financial Breakdown
Behind the casual atmosphere was a well-coordinated effort driven by 13 dedicated student volunteers who handled promotion, event setup, registration, food operations, and financial accounting. Their teamwork yielded strong financial and participation results:
Movie Screening Revenue: ₹4,333
Food Stall Revenue: ₹4,270
Total Gross Revenue: ₹8,603
Net Profit Raised: ₹6,359
The net profit generated from ticket sales and food combos goes directly toward supporting the club's designated social initiative, turning an evening of student recreation into tangible community support.
Beyond the Screen: Local to Global Relevance
While the financial metrics reflect a successful execution, the broader value of the event lies in its alignment with student development framework goals and global sustainability standards:
Student Mental Health & Well-being (SDG 3): Aligned with UN SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), the gathering provided a structured outlet for stress relief, social interaction, and emotional wellness within a supportive university environment.
Experiential Learning & Skill Building (SDG 4 & NEP 2020): In line with National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 guidelines and UN SDG 4 (Quality Education), the student organizers gained hands-on experience in leadership, budget management, event logistics, and team coordination.Community & Inclusive Growth (SDG 16): Supporting UN SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), the event promoted an inclusive campus culture where students across different batches and departments could interact cooperatively.
Looking Ahead
The Chhichhore fundraiser demonstrated how student initiative, clear planning, and a shared purpose can create a memorable campus activity. By navigating event logistics and balancing recreation with financial accountability, the Inclusiverse Club established a practical model for future campus fundraisers. As the academic year continues, this event stands as a strong example of how a university community can unite around entertainment, food, and social responsibility.
