Avian Allies stall

On Saturday, January 25, 2025, Avian Allies, the birders' club of Christ Deemed to be University, Pune Lavasa Campus, hosted a vibrant stall as part of the institution’s 10th anniversary celebrations. The event, which began at 5 PM, attracted a diverse group of attendees, including Lavasa residents, Ashiana community members, Christ students, faculty, staff, and visitors. The stall added to the festive atmosphere of the occasion, offering a unique opportunity for the community to engage with nature through creative and interactive activities. It also provided a platform to reach out to the local residents especially the Ashiana community members.

The Avian Allies stall, set up in collaboration with the Department of Languages, showcased the club’s love for birds and wildlife. It featured a variety of nature-inspired items for sale, including postcards, bookmarks, and stickers. The postcards, which featured beautiful bird illustrations, were particularly popular. Visitors could purchase postcards with handwritten messages, adding a personal touch to the products. The combination of artistic designs and thoughtful notes made the postcards a key feature of the stall. The bookmarks and stickers, also nature-themed, proved popular with the visitors, students and staff, who appreciated their unique designs. These items offered visitors a chance to take home a memorable piece of the anniversary celebrations.

One of the main attractions at the stall was the “Which Bird Are You?” personality test, an interactive activity that allowed participants to discover which bird best matched their personality traits. The test quickly became a hit, drawing in visitors eager to find out which bird species reflected their own traits. Participants eagerly took the test and shared their results with others. Many were surprised at how closely their assigned bird mirrored their own personality, while others debated the accuracy of the results, sparking discussions about different bird species and their characteristics. The personality test not only provided fun and entertainment but also deepened attendees’ connection to the avian world.

The atmosphere at the stall was lively and welcoming, with student volunteers engaging with visitors, answering questions, and sharing their knowledge about birdwatching and conservation. The volunteers’ enthusiasm created an inviting space where people felt encouraged to learn more about birds and nature. The personality test served as an excellent conversation starter, allowing participants to bond over their results and discuss the fascinating world of birds. It became clear that the stall was more than just a place to buy nature-themed products; it was a space that fostered community interaction and curiosity about the natural world.

The event was a resounding success, drawing large crowds and contributing to the overall festive spirit of Christ University Pune Lavasa Campus’s 10th Anniversary celebrations. The stall provided an enjoyable and educational experience, raising awareness about birds while offering creative and personalized products. By promoting an appreciation for nature, the stall showcased the important role that the club plays in encouraging environmental consciousness on campus. The event left attendees with a deeper appreciation for wildlife, making it a memorable part of the anniversary festivities.
