HERACLES OF LAVASA 2.0: BIGGER, BRAVER, BOLDER

Lavasa, February 9th, 2025 – The city of Lavasa witnessed an unforgettable celebration of fitness, unity, and inclusivity as it hosted the much-anticipated HERACLES OF LAVASA 2.0 Marathon, themed BIGGER, BRAVER, BOLDER. With over 300 participants and 50 volunteers from diverse backgrounds, the event fostered a vibrant atmosphere that showcased the true spirit of community, healthy living, and social responsibility.

A Marathon with a Purpose

Organized by the National Cadet Corps, Centre for Social Action, Inclusiverse, and the Department of Physical Education at CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune, Lavasa Campus, the marathon was dedicated to three key causes: climate action, a healthy lifestyle, and inclusivity. The event welcomed an array of participants, including cadets from the Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), athletes from the National Defence Academy (NDA) Khadakwasla, specially-abled children from Pune’s special schools, local residents, students, faculty, and staff from the Lavasa campus.

Igniting the Spirit of Fitness

The day kicked off at 6:30 AM with an energizing Zumba session, where participants of all ages shook off their early morning fatigue and set the tone for the event. The marathon officially began at 7:00 AM, offering participants the choice of 3KM, 5KM, and 10KM races through the breathtaking landscapes of Lavasa. Along the route, runners were reminded of the causes they were championing—climate action, a healthy lifestyle, and inclusivity. Refreshment stalls were strategically placed to provide hydration and energy, ensuring that all runners remained fueled and motivated.

A Community United

The marathon embodied true community spirit, as participants encouraged one another, assisted fellow runners, and celebrated each individual's effort—regardless of their finishing time. One of the most heartwarming moments was the participation of specially-abled children, supported by Inclusiverse Club, which ensured their comfort and inclusion throughout the race. Their hospitality and commitment to inclusivity stood as a shining example of the event’s core values.

Strength, Teamwork, and Recognition

At 9:00 AM, the energy escalated with a Tug-of-War competition, where teams demonstrated their strength and teamwork in a friendly, spirited contest. The community cheered enthusiastically, reinforcing the event’s ethos of camaraderie and collective effort.

The Valedictory Ceremony at 9:30 AM recognized the achievements of the runners, with cash prizes for open category winners and trophies for top performers across four age groups: Below 18, 18-40, 40-60, and Above 60, with both male and female winners in each category. For those who wanted to push their limits further, the event continued at 10:00 AM with a series of fitness challenges, including King of Pushups, Queen of Pushups, Plank Hold Master, and Iron Legs Champion (squats), creating an exciting environment of friendly competition.

Celebrating Triumphs and Partnerships

By 11:00 AM, participants were seen networking, capturing memories at various standees, and collecting their well-earned medals. The event was made possible by the generous support of Enrich Solar, Pertinent Infra and Solar, Shoreways Exim LLP, Hyderabadi Ittr, Learning Cafe, and Smarter You, whose contributions played a crucial role in bringing this vision to life.

A special acknowledgment was given to the Binc Team and the CSA Media Team for their excellent photography and videography, ensuring that the day’s most inspiring moments were beautifully captured for all to cherish.
