The Department of Commerce, School of Commerce, Finance, and Accountancy at Christ (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa, proudly hosted its flagship event, FINATEX, on November 22–23, 2024. The event brought together commerce enthusiasts and talented participants from prominent colleges across Pune, creating a vibrant platform for intellectual competition, collaboration, and cultural exchange. This two-day extravaganza highlighted the department's commitment to fostering creativity, critical thinking, and teamwork through a blend of academic and cultural pursuits.

Day 1: November 22, 2024

The festivities commenced with the inaugural session, held at 11:30 AM in the Auditorium, Central Block. Distinguished personalities graced the event, with Mr. Sushil Kumar, Executive Director at JP Morgan Chase, serving as the chief guest, accompanied by his wife, Ruby Kumari, the guest of honor. Their presence added an aura of inspiration and prestige, setting a motivational tone for the event.

The inauguration witnessed participation from three reputed colleges:

1. Christ College, Pune

2. St Mira's College, Pune

3. Symbiosis College of Commerce and Science, Pune

A total of 61 participants engaged in the proceedings, showcasing enthusiasm and competitiveness across the various activities planned for the day.

The spotlight of Day 1 was the commencement of five exciting games, each meticulously designed to test different aspects of business acumen, analytical skills, and strategy-making. These games included:

• Biz Arena: A game focused on entrepreneurial creativity and business planning.

• Risk and Reward: A high-stakes game revolving around strategic decision-making.

• Corporate Casino: Combining luck and financial insight in a simulated casino environment.

• Among Us: A thrilling game promoting teamwork, problem-solving, and collaboration.

• The Dalal Street: A stock market simulation game requiring quick thinking and market analysis.

The first and second rounds of the games proceeded seamlessly, with participants demonstrating impressive levels of preparation and skill. The rounds concluded by early evening, after which the event transitioned to a more cultural tone.

In the evening, the cultural competition took place at the Open Stage, Central Block, offering participants a platform to display their artistic and creative abilities. With captivating performances and collaborative routines, this segment added a lively and dynamic touch to the day, highlighting the participants' talents beyond their academic pursuits.

Day 2: November 23, 2024

The second day began with an air of anticipation as participants advanced to the final rounds of the sub-events. Each final round was intense, as participants put forth their best efforts to secure a win for their respective institutions. The engaging and competitive nature of the games kept both the audience and participants thoroughly captivated.

The event culminated in the valedictory session, marking the conclusion of FINATEX 2024. During the session, the organizing committee announced the winners and celebrated the hard work and enthusiasm displayed by all participants. Christ College, Pune, emerged as the overall champion, showcasing outstanding performances across various events. Meanwhile, St Mira's College secured the runner-up position, reflecting their impressive contributions and efforts.

FINATEX 2024 not only provided a platform for competition but also fostered camaraderie and collaboration among students from different institutions. It encouraged participants to think innovatively, apply theoretical knowledge to practical challenges, and demonstrate a range of skills including teamwork, strategy, and creativity.

FINATEX 2024 was a great success, marked by enthusiastic participation, seamless organization, and memorable moments. It reflected the spirit of healthy competition and learning that the Department of Commerce embodies. The event left an indelible impression on all attendees, setting a high benchmark for future editions of FINATEX

The School of Commerce, Finance and Accountancy organized a "Panel Discussion on Leadership and Entrepreneurship Development Skill " on 4th March 2022 at 1:30 PM at CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus.   Ms Ayushi Chandna student of 6 BCom (Financial Analytics) commenced the session with silent prayer & briefed about the Panel Discussion.
