Zavion 3.0

ZAVION’26, a national-level inter-collegiate technical fest organized by the Department of Data Science at CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus, was successfully conducted on the 23rd and 24th of February 2026. The fest served as a vibrant platform that brought together students from various institutions across the country to participate in intellectually stimulating competitions and collaborative activities. With a focus on the intersection of technology, analytics, strategy, and creativity, the event aimed to encourage students to think critically, innovate, and apply theoretical knowledge to practical challenges. Designed as a two-day immersive experience, ZAVION’26 fostered a spirit of curiosity, problem-solving, and interdisciplinary learning among participants from diverse academic backgrounds.

The fest featured a carefully curated lineup of events that challenged participants in different domains, ranging from data analytics and strategic reasoning to creativity and gaming. One of the standout events was House of Cards, a photography and videography-based storytelling challenge where teams were required to capture and present compelling visual narratives based on specific themes. This event encouraged participants to combine creativity with technical skills in editing and storytelling, resulting in innovative and engaging visual presentations.

Another major highlight was The Diamond Ledger, a data-driven event that combined exploratory data analysis with debate. Participants analyzed datasets related to economic patterns and market behaviors and presented insights supported by statistical reasoning. The event also included a debate component where teams defended their interpretations and policy suggestions, encouraging analytical thinking and evidence-based argumentation.

Adding an element of intrigue and logic, The King’s Gambit was a psychological mystery challenge designed to test participants’ reasoning abilities and problem-solving skills. Teams worked through a series of clues, puzzles, and scenarios that required careful observation, deduction, and strategic thinking. The event pushed participants to collaborate effectively while navigating complex problem-solving situations.

Competitive gaming and strategic gameplay were also integral parts of the fest. Ace Arena, a FIFA tournament, attracted enthusiastic gamers who competed in high-energy matches that demanded quick decision-making and tactical planning. Meanwhile, Odds on the Table introduced participants to concepts of game theory and probability-based decision-making, challenging them to apply mathematical reasoning in competitive scenarios.

Participants also took part in The Hidden Deck, a virtual treasure hunt designed to test attention to detail, pattern recognition, and lateral thinking. Teams followed digital clues spread across multiple platforms, requiring them to think creatively and work efficiently under time constraints. Another engaging event, Joker’s Market, simulated dynamic market environments where teams made strategic investment and trading decisions. Participants had to adapt to changing market conditions, manage risks, and develop effective strategies to outperform their competitors.

Overall, ZAVION’26 successfully created an engaging and intellectually enriching environment that encouraged innovation, collaboration, and skill development. By integrating elements of data science, creativity, and strategic thinking, the fest provided participants with valuable experiential learning opportunities. The event not only strengthened academic engagement but also fostered networking, teamwork, and a spirit of healthy competition among students from diverse institutions. Through its thoughtfully designed events and enthusiastic participation, ZAVION’26 stood as a testament to the growing importance of interdisciplinary learning and innovation in the evolving landscape of data science and technology.
