Research Day 2026
The Centre for Research organised Research Day 2025–26 on 14 May 2026 to recognise and celebrate the scholarly contributions of students who have published research papers, book chapters, or conference proceedings in Scopus-indexed journals during the academic year 2025–26. The event was attended by the Dean and Director, Associate Dean, faculty members, and students of the institution.
The programme commenced with a formal welcome, bringing together the academic community to acknowledge student achievement in research — an area of increasing institutional priority. The occasion reflected the institution's continued commitment to fostering a research-oriented culture among its student community and aligning with broader academic quality goals.
The highlight of the event was the felicitation of twenty students whose research work has been accepted and published in Scopus-indexed outlets — a rigorous international benchmark of academic quality. Each student was formally recognised in the presence of the Director, Dean, and Associate Dean, along with their peers and faculty members, lending the occasion a sense of institutional pride and encouragement.
A particularly meaningful segment of the programme was dedicated to students sharing their research experiences. Felicitated students spoke about their individual journeys — the process of identifying a research problem, developing a methodology, navigating the peer review process, and ultimately achieving publication. Their accounts offered candid and practical insight into the challenges and rewards of academic research, making the session both inspiring and instructive for the wider student audience. Several students acknowledged the guidance of their faculty mentors, underscoring the role of institutional support in enabling student research output.
The presence of senior leadership — the Director, Dean, and Associate Dean — added significance to the occasion and conveyed a clear institutional message that student research is valued and celebrated at the highest level. Their participation also served to motivate students who are at earlier stages of their research journeys to aspire toward publication in quality-indexed journals.
The event successfully achieved its dual purpose of recognition and inspiration. By creating a platform where published students could share their experiences with peers, the Research Club ensured that the learning embedded in the research process was not confined to individual achievement but was made available to the broader student community. This peer-to-peer knowledge sharing is a valuable complement to formal research training and mentorship.
Research Day 2025–26 stands as a meaningful initiative in the institution's academic calendar, reinforcing the importance of research productivity among students and contributing to a culture of scholarly inquiry. The Centre for Research and the Research Club are to be commended for institutionalising this recognition, which serves both the students honoured and the wider academic community they inspire.
