MSC Farewell

The Department of Statistics and Data Science organized a memorable farewell program for the final-year MSc Data Science students on 7th May 2026. The event was conducted as a cultural night and served as a heartfelt occasion to bid farewell to the outgoing batch while celebrating their achievements, contributions, and active involvement throughout their academic journey in the department.

The farewell evening was filled with enthusiasm, joy, and emotional moments, creating a vibrant atmosphere for both students and faculty members. The primary objective of the program was to express gratitude and appreciation to the final-year students for their dedication, academic performance, and active participation in departmental activities, cultural events, and student initiatives over the years. The event also aimed to strengthen the bond between juniors and seniors by providing an opportunity for everyone to come together and celebrate their shared experiences.

The cultural night featured a variety of entertaining performances organized by both first-year and second-year MSc Data Science students. The students showcased their talents through energetic dance performances, melodious musical presentations, and engaging games that kept the audience entertained throughout the evening. The performances reflected the creativity, teamwork, and enthusiasm of the students and added color and excitement to the celebration. Interactive games and fun activities further enhanced the spirit of togetherness and made the program lively and enjoyable for all attendees.

A significant part of the evening was dedicated to acknowledging the efforts and accomplishments of the outgoing students. Faculty members and juniors shared their memories and experiences with the final-year students, making the farewell both emotional and meaningful. The program highlighted the valuable role played by the graduating batch in contributing to the academic and extracurricular growth of the department.

The event was also graced by the presence of respected dignitaries, including the Head of the Department, Dr. Lija Jacob, and the Dean and Director, Dr. Fr. Lijo Thomas. They addressed the gathering and shared inspiring words with the students. In their speeches, they congratulated the outgoing batch for successfully completing their postgraduate studies and encouraged them to pursue their future careers with confidence, dedication, and integrity. They also appreciated the students for maintaining active involvement in academics, cultural activities, and departmental events throughout their time in the institution.

The farewell program concluded with a grand dinner followed by a DJ session, where students and faculty members came together to celebrate the memorable occasion. The joyful celebrations and warm interactions created lasting memories for everyone present. Overall, the farewell cultural night was a grand success and served as a fitting tribute to the final-year MSc Data Science students as they prepared to embark on the next phase of their professional and personal journeys.

CHRIST values instill an attitude of gratitude in the students and despite leaving the portals of the college they never fail to express their appreciation and keep the college well informed about their achievements.
