Workshop on Art of Communication

 

The Art of Communication Workshop was conducted as part of a project facilitated by CHRIST Consultancy for the Maratha Chamber of Commerce, Industries, and Agriculture (MCCIA). Designed to enhance communication skills among team members, and junior, and middle-level managers, the session was led by Samson S., Adjunct Faculty (Management and Marketing), and Resham Lohani, HOD, School of Business and Management at CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus.

The workshop aimed to develop effective verbal and non-verbal communication, active listening, empathy, and conflict-resolution skills. It provided practical tools and insights to help professionals improve their workplace interactions and enhance their ability to express ideas clearly and confidently.

The session began with a welcome and icebreaker activity, setting an engaging and interactive tone for the participants. The facilitators emphasized the importance of communication in achieving professional success and personal growth, highlighting how strong communication skills contribute to better teamwork, leadership, and decision-making.

Participants were introduced to the fundamentals of effective communication, discussing key barriers that hinder clarity and understanding. The session covered both verbal and non-verbal elements, demonstrating how body language, tone, and facial expressions play a crucial role in professional interactions.

A significant portion of the workshop was dedicated to active listening and empathy, two essential skills for building trust and fostering collaboration.
