Leadership Bootcamp: Building Skills, Inspiring Growth

The School of Business and Management (MBA), CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus, successfully organized a two-day Leadership Bootcamp on February 27–28, 2025, for students from Agnel Institute of Technology & Design, Goa. The event aimed to nurture leadership qualities, foster teamwork, and inspire professional growth through interactive learning experiences and industry exposure.

Understanding Leadership and the Role of Institutional Collaborations

Leadership is the ability to inspire, influence, and guide individuals toward a common goal. It requires a combination of vision, communication, decision-making, and adaptability. Institutional collaborations, such as this bootcamp, provide an excellent platform to cultivate leadership skills. They offer students real-world exposure, mentorship from experienced faculty, and opportunities to engage in hands-on learning experiences. These collaborations not only enhance academic excellence but also open doors for joint research, industry partnerships, and project-based learning, which are essential for shaping future leaders.

Day 1: Interactive Sessions and Experiential Learning

The program commenced at 10 AM, with students and faculty members gathering for breakfast. At 11 AM, the inauguration ceremony was led by Fr. Justin P. Varghese, Academic Coordinator, who emphasized the importance of academic collaborations in fostering institutional excellence. He highlighted how such initiatives promote knowledge exchange, research collaborations, and skill development, ultimately shaping well-rounded professionals.

The first session, conducted by Prof. Anil D’Souza, focused on 'Fundamentals of Leadership'. A renowned educator and leadership coach, Prof. D’Souza guided students through the core principles of leadership, emphasizing the significance of self-awareness, decision-making, and strategic thinking. The session was highly engaging, encouraging students to reflect on their leadership potential.


After a lunch break, the second session was led by Dr. Jibrael Jose, Associate Dean, who conducted interactive leadership activities. The 46 engineering students actively participated, despite their long journey. Dr. Jose’s session emphasized team collaboration, problem-solving, and decision-making under pressure, pushing students to step out of their comfort zones. Activities were spread across the campus, utilizing its open spaces for dynamic learning.

In the evening, students embarked on a Lavasa tour with Christ University students, facilitating peer networking and cultural exchange. The day concluded with a formal dinner at 8 PM in the Banquet Hall, Central Block, where participants and faculty reflected on the day’s learning experiences.

Day 2: Industry Exposure and Practical Insights

The second day began with breakfast, followed by an industrial visit to R R Parkon, Pune. This visit provided firsthand exposure to industry operations, automation processes, and corporate best practices, bridging the gap between academic knowledge and real-world applications.


Impact of the Leadership Bootcamp

The Leadership Bootcamp was a resounding success, equipping students with essential leadership skills, industry insights, and collaborative learning experiences. Through this program, students not only gained theoretical knowledge but also developed practical problem-solving abilities, teamwork, and strategic thinking—all crucial elements of leadership.

Such institutional collaborations play a vital role in fostering leadership, preparing students to become future decision-makers and change agents in their respective fields. The event reinforced the power of academic-industry partnerships in shaping well-rounded, competent leaders.

PANEL DISCUSSION ON LEADERSHIP & ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT SKILLS

The School of Commerce, Finance and Accountancy organized a "Panel Discussion on Leadership and Entrepreneurship Development Skill " on 4th March 2022 at 1:30 PM at CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus.   Ms Ayushi Chandna student of 6 BCom (Financial Analytics) commenced the session with silent prayer & briefed about the Panel Discussion. CHRIST values instill an attitude of gratitude in the students and despite leaving the portals of the college they never fail to express their appreciation and keep the college well informed about their achievements.
