The event "Resume to Recruitment: Mastering Interview Communication" was successfully conducted on March 4, 2025, at 9:30 AM in Room No. 2206, Management Block of CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus. The session was a collaborative effort organized by the Department of Commerce (DOC), the Department of Languages, and the SDG Cell, with valuable support from CAPS and the university’s administration.

The session was facilitated by Ms. Lovelyn Mary Andrews, an Assistant Professor from the Department of Languages at CHRIST (Deemed to be University). With her expertise in communication and language skills, she provided insightful guidance to the attendees, helping them develop a stronger understanding of resume writing, interview strategies, and professional communication techniques.

The primary aim of the event was to equip students with essential skills for recruitment, focusing on three key areas:

Resume Building: Structuring resumes effectively, tailoring them to job descriptions, and showcasing relevant experiences.

Interview Strategies: Preparing for interviews, handling questions confidently, and avoiding common pitfalls.

Mastering Communication: Enhancing verbal and non-verbal communication skills to make a positive impression on recruiters.

Ms. Andrews elaborated on the importance of a well-structured resume, emphasizing how a clear, concise, and tailored resume can significantly impact recruitment success. She highlighted the role of keywords, quantifiable achievements, and action-oriented language in making resumes stand out to employers.

One of the most impactful aspects of the session was its interactive format, which engaged students through mock interviews, real-life case studies, and personalized feedback. The mock interviews provided students with an opportunity to practice answering common interview questions in a structured setting, helping them gain confidence in their responses.

Case studies were used to analyze successful and unsuccessful interviews, giving students practical insights into best practices and mistakes to avoid. Additionally, individualized feedback was provided, enabling students to identify their strengths and areas for improvement.

Ms. Andrews also addressed common interview mistakes, including lack of preparation, unclear responses, poor body language, and nervousness. She provided practical strategies to overcome these challenges, ensuring that students felt more confident about facing interviews.

The session received positive feedback from students, who found it highly relevant, engaging, and practical. Many participants expressed that the session boosted their confidence and provided actionable strategies that they could immediately implement in their job search. The hands-on exercises, especially the mock interviews, were particularly well-received, as they allowed students to practice their skills in a supportive environment.

The organizing teams were commended for delivering an engaging and insightful session, paving the way for future skill-building workshops and training programs. Expanding the scope to include group discussions, case-based problem-solving, and networking strategies would provide a well-rounded recruitment training experience. Additionally, integrating personal branding techniques and LinkedIn profile optimization could help students build a strong digital presence, making them more visible to recruiters. By continually evolving such initiatives, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus, can further solidify its role in shaping career-ready graduates.

The School of Commerce, Finance and Accountancy organized a "Panel Discussion on Leadership and Entrepreneurship Development Skill " on 4th March 2022 at 1:30 PM at CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus.   Ms Ayushi Chandna student of 6 BCom (Financial Analytics) commenced the session with silent prayer & briefed about the Panel Discussion.
