VIHAAN 2021- Intra-Departmental fest of CUCA

Vihaan 2021 was a two-day Intra-Departmental fest organised for the freshers in the department by CUCA via online platform. The fest took place in mid-September, dated 14th and 15th September. This year’s theme for the overall event was Hindu Mythology. On the date of commencement, the enthusiasm showed by the first years was commendable which could be seen throughout the various events. A total of 139 students turned up for this year’s event. Each class were divided with their respective pseudo names. For the event, the pseudonym given to 1BCOM A was Kauravas and the pseudonym for 1BCOM B was Pandavas. Karna, Navratna, Chausar, Lakshya, Mahabharat, Ardra and Vishleshika were the seven clubs of CUCA who organised interesting and mind-boggling events with a twist of Hindu mythology in them.


The Inauguration ceremony began at 9:30AM with Pavni Arora’s address, emcee for the event. Everybody was welcomed by Dr Vandana Bhagat, Head of the Department and Programme Coordinator of School of Commerce, Finance and Accountancy followed by Dr Fr Jossy P George, Director and Dean of Christ (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa. His presence and his words inspired the newly budding Christites. The introduction video of Vihaan 2021 was then broadcasted on the screens of the participants. Ani Samuel, CUCA Faculty Coordinator delivered the vote of thanks to the participants. With the University anthem, the ceremony came to an end. Soon after all the rounds of the respective events began.


The Valedictory ceremony was held on 15th September, 2021 at 4:00PM. The host for the event was Alisha Rukhsar Ali, a second-year student. Ayushi Chandana, the student representative of CUCA delivered the welcome speech. Dr Fr Arun Anthony, Academic Coordinator of Christ (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa,  delivered the Presidential Address. The report of the overall event was read by Ayushee Gupta, student representative of CUCA. The announcement of the winners was made by the faculty members respectively. For Mahabharat- MUN and Debating Club, the second runner ups were Ashwin Manoj and Faheem Ramees Kunnath, followed by Yasmeen Faatima and David Vijay who took the position of first runner ups and D Nishanth and Khyati Kalra who were crowned the winners for this event. The winners for the Analytics Club-Vishleshika are Ekansh Khosla and Haripriya Singh, followed by Mannit Mehta bagger of the first runner up prize and Arushi Sharma and Anjali Pathak, the second runner ups. Navratna and Karna were the events with individual participants. The winner for the Navratna- HR Club was presented to Vasanth, followed by Syed Ryan Ahmar bagger of the first runner up prize and Malhar Anand, the second runner up. For Chausar- Finance Club, the second runner ups were Aditya Sikdar and Divya Daftur, followed by Kavin Kurein Jospeh and Adishwar Singh Khurana who took the position of first runner ups and Tanmay Pailwal and Abhinav Kansil who were crowned the winners for this event. Lakshya- the Marketing Club’s second runner ups were Shaanya Gunjan along with Bisaj Ghosh, first runner ups were Astha Gupta with Paras and the winners were Varun Rawat and Ayushi Bhandari. The Entrepreneurship Club named their event Ardra. Sehar Ablash and Amy Susan John bagged the first prize in ED, accompanied by Amy Maria Joy and Komal Jha for the second place followed by Nandana and Surjya Pratap Das in the third place. The title of the best manager was won by Sarthak Singhee in the Karna event. The title of the best class was given to the Kauravas- 1BCOM A. After the announcement of all the winners, Amala Siby, event coordinator of Vihaan 2021 conveyed vote of thanks and acknowledged all the participants for their amazing efforts. The event of two days came to an end with the evergreen Christ University anthem.
