First NCC Selection (2021)
The Department of NCC, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus, was proud to organize its first-ever NCC trials for the students of the academic year 2021-22. The selection process consisted of Personal Interviews and various rounds of physical tests such as 1600 M running, sit-ups, pull-ups, height, weight, etc., and a written test on current affairs and general knowledge for Senior Division and Senior Wing. The Physical selections were conducted by the Officers, Major Shubash Chandra and CHM Amarjeet Singh (NCO Training Officer) of the 36 Maharashtra Battalion, Pune Group, here at CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus on Saturday, 25th September 2021.
The students from various parts of the country traveled to Lavasa in spite of the pandemic and were present for the event with full rigor and spirit. This not only showcased their interest, enthusiasm, and commitment towards being a part of the first-ever batch of NCC at Lavasa Campus, but they also showcased their dedication and skills at every point of the event. The event ended with a batch of 33 students being selected as Cadets from a total of 75 Students for this academic year, out of which, 21 were boys and 12 were girls.
The NCC was implemented with the continuous effort and support of the Director, Dr Fr Jossy P George, Ms Lt Sajina Begum (ANO, Bangalore Campus), Mr Prakash P (CTO, Lavasa Campus) and the Management. The Department of NCC has also decided that they will not stop here but will strive hard to train the selected cadets to develop Character, Comradeship, Discipline, Leadership, Secular Outlook, Spirit of Adventure, and Ideals of Selfless Service amongst the Youth of the Country.
