The Wall Street Warrior Event

The Wall Street Warrior event was organized exclusively for MBA Finance Specialization students at CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus on 24th September 2021 at 2:00 PM. The purpose of the event was to give a first-hand exposure to check the students’ understanding of financial statements & business valuation. The event provided the students with a hands-on experience to prepare projected financial statements and also to evaluate different business scenarios in order to design the venture strategy. The Inaugural Ceremony started with a welcome speech & briefing about the event by Faria Khan.



The competition was organized on two fronts simultaneously - ‘The Entrepreneurs’ (Min 6, Max 10) & ‘The Investors’. The audience/participants were pre-classified into two groups based on their preference’s. Each participant was allotted 1 million and were advised to invest according to the details provided to them. The investors could then invest the allotted amount in different companies based on their choice and financial analysis. Entrepreneurs were briefed on the basic details for different business/industry situations, such as size of the markets, level of competition, risk & returns. Entrepreneurs had to choose from between 3 sectors assigned and prepare financials accordingly.



It kicked off with Entrepreneurs being individually engaged in getting ready the financial statements for the first year in a limited time assigned. The completed first year financial of student entrepreneurs were shared with student inventors to analyze and find the most potential one to invest in within a limited time frame. As the investments flooded in the entrepreneurs were informed and prepared the second year financial with consideration to investments. At the end of the event there was a ‘Top Gainer’ who was the Market Interstellar entrepreneur and the ‘Top Looser’ was the Rock-Bottom entrepreneur, whereas with investors the ‘Top Investor’ got the Big Bull title and the ‘Top Looser’ the sluggish bear. The purpose of the event was executed when the entrepreneur learned how to prepare the financial statements with the conditions given, forming a financial strategy for bringing a new company in the given sector and the importance of ratios that made the company profitable and attractive for investments. Through investments they had to understand the practical basis for analyzing companies and prepare a portfolio. It was a very intense, engaging, thoughtful, analytical and event.

PANEL DISCUSSION ON LEADERSHIP & ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT SKILLS

The Third International Conference on Data Science, Computation and Security (IDSCS-22) hosted by CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus in association with Springer from 11th to 12th February 2022. The conference was conducted online with participants from all across the globe. The conference commenced with the inauguration ceremony at 9:30 AM.
