Discover, Connect, Grow: School of Sciences Association Orientation

The School of Sciences Association (SSA) at CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus, organized its Orientation Programme on 20 August 2025 under the theme “Discover, Connect, Grow.” The session was held from 1:30 – 2:00 PM in Room No. 1127, Central Block, and served as the formal introduction of SSA’s vision, objectives, and activities for the academic year 2025–26.

The primary purpose of the orientation was to familiarize students with the opportunities offered by SSA, a vibrant student association that represents the spirit of collaboration, creativity, and holistic growth among science students. The association functions not merely as an administrative body but as a community-building platform where young minds come together to explore ideas, engage in academic pursuits, and develop their leadership potential.

The session opened with a welcome note highlighting the significance of SSA as an integral part of the School of Sciences. The resource persons for the event — Dr. Asif, DrAnita, and Prof. Ananya Mitra, who serve as SSA Coordinators — led the proceedings and provided insights into how the association works closely with students to create meaningful experiences throughout the year. They spoke about SSA’s three-fold mission: to help students discover their potential, to connect with peers and mentors, and to grow into confident individuals prepared for academic and professional challenges.

During the orientation, the coordinators outlined the variety of academic, cultural, and co-curricular activities planned for the upcoming year. They emphasized how SSA encourages active student involvement, from organizing workshops, seminars, and guest lectures, to initiating cultural programmes, leadership opportunities, and community outreach projects. Each activity is designed to foster critical skills such as communication, teamwork, time management, and creativity, which are crucial not only for academic success but also for personal growth.

A key highlight of the session was its interactive nature. Students were encouraged to raise questions and share expectations, making the orientation more engaging and participatory. The coordinators responded to queries with clarity, offering practical advice on how to make the most of SSA’s platforms. This interaction also gave the students an opportunity to understand how SSA acts as a bridge between faculty and students, ensuring that student voices are heard and integrated into decision-making processes.

The event concluded with a call to action, inviting students to view SSA as more than just an association, but rather as a supportive community where every member plays a vital role. Students were encouraged to take ownership of their learning journey, contribute actively to association events, and see themselves as future leaders who can make a difference within the university and beyond.

Overall, the SSA Orientation Programme successfully set a positive tone for the academic year. It reinforced the importance of belonging to an academic association that not only nurtures intellectual curiosity but also builds confidence, leadership, and responsibility among students. The event reflected CHRIST University’s commitment to holistic education and its vision of preparing students to engage meaningfully with both academic and social spheres.

Attitude of Gratitude

CHRIST values instill an attitude of gratitude in the students and despite leaving the portals of the college they never fail to express their appreciation and keep the college well informed about their achievements.
