The Transition Journey

Christ University, Pune Lavasa Campus, continues to enrich the academic journey of its students by connecting them with successful alumni who can share valuable experiences from the professional world. On 2nd September 2025, the School of Business and Management (BBA) organized an Alumni Interaction exclusively for the 2023 Batch of BBA students. The session, titled “The Transition Journey: College to Corporate World,” was held from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM at the Management Block Auditorium and featured Mr. Ankit Choudhary, a distinguished alumnus from the 2021 Batch of BBA Business Analytics. He is currently working as Senior Associate - Brand Success at Confluencer, a Global Influencer Marketing Agency.

The purpose of this interactive session was to help students understand the realities of moving from the academic environment of college into the demanding space of the corporate world. Transitioning from student life to professional life is a significant milestone that comes with its own set of opportunities and challenges. Alumni interactions serve as an effective platform for current students to learn about these aspects directly from individuals who have recently undergone this transformation.

In his talk, Mr. Choudhary reflected on his own journey of transitioning from Christ University to his career in the influencer marketing industry. He emphasized how the foundation built during his years at Lavasa played a vital role in preparing him for the responsibilities of corporate life. He spoke about how classroom learning, group projects, and campus activities instilled important skills such as teamwork, communication, time management, and critical thinking, which later translated into success in his professional roles.

He also highlighted that the shift from college to corporate life requires adaptability and resilience. Unlike academic settings where outcomes are often predictable, the corporate world demands dealing with uncertainty, tight deadlines, and performance pressures. He encouraged the students to focus on building soft skills, maintaining a positive mindset, and continuously learning to stay relevant in a fast-paced and competitive environment. According to him, confidence and networking are equally as important as technical knowledge, since many opportunities arise from meaningful professional relationships.

The students found his insights relatable and motivating. Many of them are on the verge of stepping into internships, placements, or higher studies, and the interaction gave them a clearer perspective of what lies ahead. His candid sharing of challenges he faced during his initial days in the corporate world reassured students that difficulties are natural and can be overcome with persistence and preparation.
