Text Book Exhibition 2025
The Textbook Exhibition 2025, held on 9–10 September 2025 from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm, was a flagship initiative of the Library & Information Centre, organized in collaboration with The Readers’ Club at CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus. Conceived as a dynamic platform to showcase a comprehensive range of newly published and updated academic textbooks, the exhibition aimed to bridge the gap between students, faculty, and the ever-evolving world of academic publishing. The two-day event successfully highlighted textbooks from multiple disciplines, ensuring that participants from diverse academic programs could find materials relevant to their studies, teaching, or research. Set in the Quadrangle of the Central Block (Room No. 2110, MBA Block), the venue was carefully arranged to accommodate both book displays and interactive discussions, creating an inviting and engaging environment.
A key feature of the exhibition was the active participation of renowned book vendors, including M & J Books and Vakratund Books from Mumbai, along with Vaibhav Book Shop and Classic Book Shop from Pune. Their presence enabled attendees to engage directly with professionals in the publishing and bookselling industry, gaining valuable insights into new releases, updated editions, and subject-specific trends. These interactions allowed participants to clarify details, compare editions, and make well-informed choices for both personal and institutional needs.
Throughout the event, students, faculty members, and staff enthusiastically explored the wide selection of textbooks. Many chose to purchase books for personal or professional use, while others provided thoughtful recommendations for titles to be added to the university’s library collection. Such recommendations play a vital role in strengthening the library’s holdings, ensuring that its resources remain current, high-quality, and aligned with the university’s academic and research requirements. The exhibition thus served as a collaborative effort in collection development, directly involving end-users in shaping the resources that support their learning and teaching.Beyond its practical outcomes, the exhibition fostered a culture of reading and continuous learning. Participants were able to stay updated on the latest editions and academic resources across a variety of disciplines, reinforcing the importance of lifelong learning and scholarly engagement. Faculty members, in particular, appreciated the opportunity to discover new materials for course planning and research, while students benefited from exposure to authoritative and recently updated textbooks that can enhance their academic performance.
The event’s success can be attributed not only to the diverse range of textbooks on display but also to the seamless coordination by the organizing committee and the support of student volunteers. Their efforts ensured that the exhibition ran smoothly, from vendor setup to participant engagement. In summary, the Textbook Exhibition 2025 was far more than a display of books; it was a celebration of academic inquiry, collaboration, and resource sharing. By facilitating direct vendor interactions, enabling informed decision-making, and strengthening the library’s collection, the exhibition advanced the university’s mission to provide high-quality, up-to-date materials for teaching, learning, and research, thereby reinforcing the Library & Information Centre’s role as a vibrant hub of knowledge and innovation.
